70 days to go. We are pleased to see it has snowed a lot in the Aosta Valley and it appears they are beginning to bash the runs into the village. Our numbers have now risen to 18, 5 boarders and 13 skiers. Roll on 22nd Jan.Happy days :)

Ski resorts for beginners in French Alps

At the risk of being one sided you may consider Courmayeur (1.5hrs)or La Thuile (2 hrs). La Thuile has 3 magic carpets in the town, 2 of which are free if your children are learners. Plus the Lift passes are relatively cheap compared with most French Resorts.
Which Skis to Buy?

I agree with the others, 170cms is to long for your height and experience. Most recommend a ski length between chin and nose but maybe a little longer the better you are. I reckon you may be better sticking with good rented skis (intermediate level) especially if you do not have your own boots.
Or in the case of the majority of them. "it's your round...again".
Our numbers have now increased to 16, :). Unfortunately Rooms with our current TO are now fully booked but another TO still has a few rooms left but leaving Saturday and at a vastly more expensive price. However there are still a few apartments left for a Sunday departure on a self catering basis at a very good price(we already have 2 people staying there). So if you are interested PM me ASAP. 116 to go
To late I fear Comanche597 :)
