La Grave is SERIOUS back country skiing and you should only REALLY consider skiing it with a guide.
Short trip to Tignes 8th-11th Dec

I have just returned from a short trip to Tignes as advertised by Admin earlier this month. I find it hard to believe that only 17 people in the whole of the UK took up this offer. It was epic. The trip was great and the TO and Club Med surpassed all my expectations and my wife (who is a non skier and warm weather monster) said it was the best short break she has EVER been on (and she has been on quite a few!! :) ). She even tried skiing in between swimming, sauna, steam room and the odd walk and fizzy pop. The guides took some of the group over to get a special view of the mens FIS race at Val D'Isere on the Saturday. The same trip this week will cost you 3 times the price!! I am posting just 2 photos of the resort and conditions as I am sure lots of you know Tignes well but a few others of something I guess that most of us ski people transiting through congested airports thought they would NEVER witness. Really this was true and NOT a dream. Grenoble airport was opened just for our flight....99 inbound and just the 17 of us returning to Gatwick. There were more staff than customers. We also had our own A320 plus crew for our homeward journey. I shall be keeping an eye out for a similar trip next season.
I wouldn't go on my own. There are lots of opportunities on this forum (and others) to find a like minded person. Providing you are willing to room share the costs then become manageable. Join a group, like the Kaprun or La Thuile group here next year, as they will probably be able to pair you up.

Or if in doubt, do what the rest of us do and talk drivel. :)
I have just booked to go.. Its even better news now as the flight to Geneva is £31 (plus baggage) and Skiline have just chucked in the first afternoons ski pass as well. Roll on 8th Dec. :)
