Hi,
Thanks for both replies. I've had a quick look at Schlick2000 and it's got some excellent reviews. The only worrying aspect for me is the size of the ski area. On reflection my post was probably not totally accurate, at least 3 of the group should be described as intermediates. during our last holiday to Isola 2000 we (3 of us) skied the area (120km) in about 4 days so ideally we would rather an area of equal or larger size. Sorry if I sound a little ungrateful for the excellent recommendations, I really do appreciate the help, perhaps I'm being too specific. Thanks again! |

Hi,
I'm looking to book our 2014 ski holiday but seem to be going around in circles looking for a resort that would suite our group. We are a group of 10 (5 adults, 5 children aged 13, 13, 11, 7 and 6) who I would describe as mostly early intermediates. We are looking for a resort with the following criteria: Has long, wide easy cruising blues and reds. Has a nursery slope and some greens quite central to the resort so that we and leave the mother-in-law to watch the kids knowing that they can't go too far. Somewhere that's fairly snow sure and quiet towards the end of Febuary. So far we've looked at Cervinia but been told all the runs look identical and very prone to bad weather. Saalbach but heard that there are a large amount of very steep blues. Soldeu, been advised that the nursery slope are up on the pistes away from the town. Alpe de Huex did look perfect but our half term coincides with the Parisians half term so it will be very busy. Finally we looked at Madonna Di Campiglio which again looked perfect until I read there is no nursery slope and a bus has to be caught to the next village to use theirs. If anyone has been to any of these resorts I would appreciate your feedback and help deciding. All other recommendations are very welcome...Thanks! |

Hi,
I'm looking to book a ski holiday for 10 people to Cervinia next February. I've priced private transfers bt the prices I'm being quoted are ridiculous even by Italian standards, therefore I'm looking into cheaper option ie train or bus. I've heard that you can get to Cervinia by getting 2 buses directly from Turin airport. Just wondering what website you can the book the buses through? how easy is the transfer? What stations do you switch buses? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.. |

Hi, for the past 4 years my family and I (2 adults & 2 kids) have had a post Christmas ski holiday in Tignes, Val Thorens etc but when it comes to half term we have been visiting Isola 2000 which has been ok for a second ski holiday but now it's getting a little boring. However I've had a good look around but cannot find any other resort that offers Airport to resort transfers for €1 per person. This along with the half price lift passes (€68 for 7 days) allows us to take a second ski holiday. Does anyone know of any other hidden ski gems where the prices are this competitive? Thanks...

Hi,
Judging by the webcam Isola 2000 seems to be struggling with the snow this year. I'm due to go the end of this month and starting to get a little worried.... Anyone know if there is any fresh snow due for the South Alps soon? |
