I was only joking! I understand what you mean, get to know people on a more friednly level and build a rapport! I just thought your term 'chat up the guys' was funny! |

Yeah that's a good thought! I don't know about chatting them up?, but I'll try and make sure I get a higher end pair of ski's haha!

Dave,
Yeah I think this is the best course of action, I also agree that the social side is very important for building up contacts and friends! The deal will include the option to change ski's so I can have the best of both worlds with regards to the type of ski's I use! I'm not sure if I will purchase ski's when I'm out there purely because I don't know how much money I will have spare, and the next time I'll be able to ski because of university :( Thanks for your help! :) |

Thank you all for your input and views! I agree that having the choice of ski's would be good, and i'm sure as a worker they would sort me out a decent pair of ski's! And I'm going to be honest I really know very little about buying ski's so it would involve a lot of research whereas leaving it up to the rental shop would be a hell of lot easier and the choice I would have is really appealing!
Thanks for the comments! |

Ahh okay thanks! That's a great idea, never considered that before! You've sort of confirmed what I considered to be the best course of action!
Thank you for the speedy reply! |

So I'm planning on working a season in the 3 valleys area, so that's roughly 5-6 months. Currently I can do red and blue runs comfortably but will obviously improve dramatically while I'm out in France. So my question is basically should I purchase a set of ski's for a medium range budget or use the free ski hire, although the ski's are likely to be sh*t. I'm buying boots for sure, so any feedback would be great! :)
Thanks for any replies in advance Charlie :) |

@ Ian; yeah of course I am! And well I'm not going with my family but family friends and we take lessons with Hunters ski school everyday.
@davkt that route sounds good! Does it have a name? Really fancy trying that one. @lilly Thanks for all the info on the runs! Very very helpful and gives me an idea of what to expect! :)) |

Really! That sounds great! Unfortunately I am there in the half term week because my sixth form doesn't see skiing as a suitable excuse for a week off......god knows why? Okay I've heard that several times about the gondola lift, same with the chair lifts! Although it didn't seem to bad last december. Ohh I was hoping to begin to tackle some of the blues, especially the sitnyakovo royal residence run! We'll just have to see haha!
