Has a nice 60's/70's vibe about it in terms of colours and form...IMHO.

Don't ask me what it is called!!!
Excellent coffee and cakes, very good hot chocolate, delightful french lady owner/manager, clean and good toilets, wonderful sun terrace .......s:

I think we stopped there. Had very tasty cheese omelette and chips. Better than it sounds honestly. Reasonable value as well. Not too bothered about the prices - if the sun is shining and there is good skiing, I'm a happy camper!
I'll try to remember where we ate in Tignes.

We stopped by Bar de L'Ouilette in Vad d'Isere most days. Lovely open view and outside decking area overlooking a frozen lake near the bottom of the green Madeleine run (probably the only real green run in VDI!)

Can get busy though.

It was the double T-bar that gave it away, we watched from the restaruant as someone fall off on the steep bit and took out every skier below. Took about 45mins before they sorted themselves out.

How about this:

(It's usually pisted)

Is it Piste M in Val d'Isere?

I think you might be right about the resort, though I think it's just below the bottom of the aiguille rouge lift, which would make that the red arandelieres run?

That's a gold star for you Andy

Looking great in Hemsedal for early season skiing. Temperatures good above 1000m although slight thaw in the town. 9 day forecast is showing freezing down to 0m in a few days time!

If we were sans children, I'd be tempted to head over there for some November skiing. Accommodation is really cheap that month and more fun that skiing on a glacier in the alps.
