French schools go by sector, pretty much all of Feb on and off?

Majority of the German schoold holidays are earlier in FEb too so all in all doesn't look a bad week.

AI=All Inclusive I think club hotel is perhaps what they call a group of AI hotels in Austria. I've been to the SkiWelt in February twice once where there was loads of natural snow and once when the lower slopes were topped up by the impressive snowmaking and had a great time.
I think the Dolomites can have there own snow issues being, southernly, and pretty dry at times. Good chance of bright sunny days too though. £600 odd for a week of being fed and watered is pretty good in my book when it's the same price as most HB. |

Hello all.
To fit in my 4th and final weeks skiing for the coming season I was happy to wait for a last minute deal but then yesterday I received an email with a special 2 day only offer for the EXACT week that I can go skiing. It's a good enough deal to make me book up so I've been looking around at: Tinges: been before but love it. French school holidays so I'm ruling it out. Dolomites: The cheaper options don't really meet with what we want (good intermediate mileage, and easy access to the Sella Ronda). So we'd looked at Selva. Before discount prices for something HB are ~£700pp. Although I've skied in Italy (via linked resorts) I've never been based in Italy and the Dolomites look stunning. I've also looked at various options in Austria, some have either been ruled out either due to cost, I've been before, or will be going this year already. I can take advantage of a miss-pricing online and get a AI club hotel in a good location for £620, I've phoned the operator and they said they'd honor the internet price due to their error and hold it until the end of the day. So Kitz is the cheaper option, shorter transfer over there ~1.5 vs 2.5 hrs? Plus to Austria I can fly from my local airport. Italy requires Manchester flights which is about an hour further each way. Although it doesn't really add up I've never skied in the Dolomites. This is the first trip me and my other half will have taken when it's just been the 2 of us so I'm happy to go at her pace (she's a pretty good intermediate) The ski safari in Kitz sounds right up her street with a 22 mile circuit. Anyone been to both and can comment on the overall experience? Main thing with Kitz seems to be the natural snow record but mid Feb will to gamble. Need to book tonight to take advantage of the offer. I'm currently 80:20 in favour of Kitz. |

If you like your Apres go to Austria, go to St Anton.
If you're not too bothered about the Apres and the general cost of things I'd recommend Les Arc/Le Plagne if you want to try somewhere different in France. |
