A friend (ahem) told me if you search for Hertz CDP codes on the World Wide Interweb then you will likely find ones which will give you a discount. Obviously you will have to qualify - so if it's for readers of a certain newspaper, all very well, but if it's for employees, then obv you can't use it.
Another good one to try for cheap car hire is carrentals.co.uk; it's great watching the price go down as it finds more and better deals. I've always preferred having a car than getting transfers, as it's normally cheaper and gives you some flexibility when in-resort.. |

I got pathetically excited then realised a lot of the webcams were archive shots of when it WAS snowy, like back in April... sucker that I am.

And Nutella jars. Not necessarily washed. |

Nigel there's a fair bit to do in Bolzano - about 40km away. |

Even as a world-class fritterer (word?) of money, I think this is a crazy price... it's an (il)logical next step following a service launched a couple of years ago which will pick up yr holiday luggage and have it delivered to yr hotel. Don't think I'll be buying shares.

Indeed. Like mine. I didn't have any employees, but a lot of freelance contractors saw a line of business dry up because of two critical contracts being pulled. |

While neither especially 'pro' or 'anti' the Royal Family - I find them a bit farcical, if anything - do bear in mind that a good chunk of what constituted 'Crown' property was confiscated from the Catholic church by Henry VIII. George III gave up hereditary revenue from crown properties (to what is now the Crown Estate) in exchange for an annual payment; a pretty good deal for the taxpayer as Crown income was £190m in 2007. c.f. the £12m in the civil list. Which incidentally is less than social democrat Swedes fork out for their civil list.
Fully agree with Bandit on the Windsor thing; picked to play well with the locals by George (should that be Georg?) V. On the Descent issue, they were an excellent company and founder Kit Harrison was a very decent guy. Perhaps we should be thinking about the employees they leave without a job. |

There was a deal of £20 for two on the website late last week for weekend entry; also if you mention Twitter you get £4 off..,
