Started by User in Ski Chatter, 15 Replies
Hey Cheapskate
Im in the same both, looking for a cheap weekend somewhere. If there are a few of you, there may vary well be. You can fly at the moment with rynair to millian for 59 euro return and hire a car for around 15 euro a day, also using the features of this great site you will find how many ski resorts are near the airport your arriving and how long. They are not the greatest resorts but they would do for a day or two i suppose, im still investigating the resorts near milian. But some early dec skiing is definely in my cards.

type in google search, ski resorts near milian bergamo and you will get j2ski site adress

hope this helps

I have Level 1 BASI, why do you ask. They want to get a high level of ski instructors, and i think they are just looking for level 2 instructors. One of the Directors is the guy who owns NONSTOP SKI, there are few other's who are in the company as well.
im not too sure of the pay scales, but i think its pretty good and if you want to make a career out of it you can.

Check put the saloon bar, its great crack at night time and the price for drinks isnt too bad. Another place to go for food is either the Lodge(best steak ever) and also quicksilver roxy cafe where they have free wifi if you have the laptop. Then once the bars close, just head up to dick's tea bar and you will have a savage time. Theres another nightclub beside's the Village of children but i cant remember the name of the club. Its across from the lift that goes up to the solaise area, its quite good club and the live bands are pretty good.

If you want to watch a match, head to the pacific bar where they show all the matchs and have cheap drink aswell. They have 3 60 inch tvs so you will have plenty of view, i watch the barcalona and Real Madrid match in there and it was savage

If your in the mood for a student night, head to Moris bar where theres a lot of young people and generaly theres a band playing aswell. Theres some mighty crack in there and they are not too scabby with the drink.

The skiing is pretty good, personaly i think the solaise and the val galicer is pretty good and theres a chair lift in the solaise side that if you ski a lot in val you know when to hope off the chair lift onto a savage off piste, be careful though you may get your lift pass taken off you if you are caught.

Val's side is pretty good skiing personaly, thats where i go ever year to do a performance course with a level 4 basi coauch that knows the area very well(savage to know if you want to go off piste on powder days) and also where i did my level 1 and will be doing my level 2 in april. I really cant find anything wrong with Val to be honest

Tignes have some sweet area's and its great freestyle park, best time to go is half way through march when they have the europen x games which is great fun.

anyway theres plenty of more stuff, but i only know the val side and its mostly about cheaper accomindation and always always email the tourist board in val and see if you can get half price lift pass for the escape killy. Been getting them two years running :D

p.s.
best run ever is either the Grand Prix or Borsat
Only 7 more sleeps :D This time next week il be enjoying a class of wine and nice food in Val d'isere
Heading off at the end of this month to Val D'isere to train for my level 2 :D
