Just love the mountains winter or summer,when we 1st started on package holidays all those years ago,would be 1st on the lift last off, and party all night.Just as happy now to stick on some skinnys or snow shoes and go wandering,even like shoveling snow :lol: By the way last year on this day awoke to -1 20cm of snow,looked at todays forecast 20c and sunny hope this is not an omen

Ten to 12 hours driving time, no tolls on route Belgium Germany .The autobahns are a lot less Forgiving than the French motorways, if the weather is poor or if it is dark you need far more concentration especialy if you get onto a unrestricted section, but never had any problems.

We have done this trip a few times, and after trying both opted for straight into Belgium and Germany found the route more direct, normaly stopped of around the Mainhiem area. Goff |

We did it a few years back, flew up to Reno and picked up car. In San Francisco we were told not to go south of Market Street (Soma).And if you go on the paddle steamer across to South Lake Tahoe Squaw Valley,dont go drinking and miss it we were standing on the quay watching it paddle of across the lake.
The guy in the bar phoned the office in Heavenly and they turned it round came back picked us up.Seemed everyone on the boat cheered us up the gang plank :roll:Still gave everyone more partytime :lol: a great day out. Goff |
