Hi cameltheif

Early jan skiing especially the first week after new year can be a great time to ski as the runs are quieter and generally the snow has fallen so high resorts are not as important giving your group more options.

If I was you I would post your first post on the solution room in chalets direct. Www.chaletsdirect.com the solution room takes out the endless hours of you searching as your requirements are posted to 100's of chalet owners / companies and they can advise on the resort, what they can offer and if you put in your post that you require them to post the price they wil again saving you doing loads of hors emailing and trawling he net. Also try an online ski agent they will also do the running around for you and there is no charge to you except the. Oat of the holiday.

La folie douce is the spot to head to for après, it is on the piste, plays live music on the terrace and is around €7 a pint, although there are happy hour après deals so check them out. €25 for a run and coke ? Not sure which bar that was but generally a short and mixer is around €10. I am sure the frog and roast beef don't charge €25 a drink. Average drinks prices across the main alpine resorts I.e val d' is ere, tignes, meribel, courchevel , la plagne, les arcs are typically €7 for a pint of beer €3 for a glass of house wine and €10 for a short with mixer. Nightclubs are different especially if you head to a French "discotheque" they do charge slightly more I.e le loft in meribel charge €15 for a short with mixer and €10 for a pint. Valtornet.com is a great place to source more info. Hope it helps
