You can use the same lift pass for Kimberley and Fernie. They are great for skiing between the trees!
I prefer these resorts to Sunshine etc.. They are really quiet though so nightlife isn't up to much but it means no lift q and feeling like you have the entire mountain to yourself!
North America for a large(ish) group?

I have just returned from Breckenridge for 10 days which cost £1500 inc lift pass and a dodge journey 4x4. We stayed in a condo on the 4 o clock run so you could ski to your door. Breck is a great resort and I would defo go back but the altitude may not be for everyone. The town sits at about 11000ft! Can be difficult to get your breath for the 1st few days.

Hi,

Kimberley had a park last time I went, but its only small. The town is small though and the alpine resort has just 2 bars! Its a 2 hour drive from Fernie and you can use the same lift pass.
Hope this helps :-)
European weather patterns

I have been to canada for the last 3 years visiting Kimberley, Banff, Lake Louise & Nakiska. This was due to my mum living in Calgary. What a fantastic place to ski. Great snow record & friendly people and you feel like you almost have the slopes to yourself. Admittedly its more expensive than Europe but worth every penny. It would be more appealing if the tour operators would provide a half board option as this is what drives up the cost. I am giving Breckenridge a try this Feb although I really wanted to try Big White in kelowna or Whitefish in Montana. This will have to wait for next year now. As for Europe, it would have to be a very good deal to get me there again as its just too busy on the slopes and lacks the powder that everyone goes in search of!
Banff lift pass/ bus to slopes ?

Kimberely is quiet but there are a few activities for non-skiers, Fernie would probably be better as there is a bit more going on but its still relatively quiet compared to Banff. However, I would choose them over Banff because of the ease of it all. Hope this helps!
Ski Helmets

I didnt want to get a helmet due to my love of a head band! I did however go with safety 1st and after going to Mayrhofen last year and getting clobbered at least twice a day in the mad scrum for the gondola by the mad pushers who dont know what the word que is, I was very glad if only for that reason that i did wear one. It wasnt actually that bad even if I do resemble a mushroom!
Banff lift pass/ bus to slopes ?

Maybe one of the other resorts for ski in/out? Say Fernie, Kimberley or Kicking Horse, although Banff would be much better for a non-skier. There is a hotel up in Sunshine but it may be restricting up there?
Kicking Horse or Kimberley?

It sounds very similar to Kimberley, its very quiet and you feel like you have the mountain to yourself as you hardly see any other skiers/boarders!

The place is sooo quiet, but a bottle of wine and a hot tub is fine with me!

The accomodation seems a bit dearer in Kicking Horse but I think I am gonna try it beginning of Feb for a change. Its the ski in/out that I look for or relatively near and there are a few accoms I have seen near the Gondola.

Thanks for your help!
