mfc,
That's a bit of a coincidence, I've just spent about an hour cleaning the glue off our 3 new velux windows, with some extra powerful glass cleaning solvent plus the special metal scraper designed for cleaning glass cooker tops. Velux have a horrible habit of glueing the A4 sized guarantee to the underneath of the windows with 6 blobs of impossibly well stuck on glue. If you look when you're driving around you often see the glue blobs still stuck on people's veluxes. Ally |

Hi Rose,
That is pretty creepy. Anyway, wherever he is I'm sure he would have been pleased you were enjoying his music. Ally |

Hi Rose,
I'm sorry to hear about your brother. That's so sad. I can see why you keep all his records. My husband is a great collector of clutter as well - old JCB's, muck spreaders, tractors, hay elevators etc. etc. We had the scrap man clear quite a lot, but we still have masses more that I can't persuade him to part with yet. I forgot to say - Tony, I hope you have a very big shovel (for the sand I mean)! Ally |

Tony,
I don't think the length of my drive is the problem, it's more the depth of the sand I have my head stuck in, Ally |

Dids,
How's your daughter this morning? Is her wrist any better? The only small piece of advice I have, from experience, is that sometimes fractures with young children and teenagers don't show up straight away on an X-ray. So, maybe if there's no improvement you could consider taking her back for another X-ray. I would think they'd put it in a cast then. I broke my own shoulder about 5 years ago on the dry ski slope, and everyone assured me that it wasn't broken - the first aid guy on the slopes, the triage nurse at the hospital, and the doctor on duty in Casualty (even after he'd seen the X-ray). But I insisted that it was very important that I knew for sure because I was due to go on a ski-ing holiday in 2 weeks and I didn't want to make it worse. Anyway, then they very kindly sent the X-ray up to the consultant who was on duty overnight sleeping in the hospital (it was 8 O'clock in the morning when I went in -but I'd been ski-ing the day before), and he could see the break. And my daughter broke her arm when she was 7 years old, simply by tripping and falling on the carpet, and her break didn't show up on the X-ray, but the Casualty doctor said that from the clinical appearance of her arm she was sure it was broken. And I should think it was. It took 6 weeks to heal and then she had about 6 weeks of physio on it, and it's been absolutely fine ever since. I am very grateful to both these doctors that correctly diagnosed our breaks. My shoulder is fine now as well, although it took an awful lot of physio to get it right, after the break healed. Wishing you and yours all the best, Ally |

Ian,
I have heard of itunes, it has something to do with music and the computer, because my daughter had an itunes voucher for her birthday, but I don't know what they are. Ally |

I've never heard of either of them. I don't listen to music (but I'm not tone deaf, and I used to play the piano fairly well).

Snowb4ndit and Amanda,
Have a really good time, and I shall miss you both (unless you can squeeze in time for a quick post). Amanda, you are not a nuisance at all. In fact, I know we're not supposed to have favourites, but you are my favourite poster here. You always make me laugh with your enthusiasm. You remind me of Tigger in Winnie the Pooh. And Snowb4ndit, I will miss your good sense, and help when I get stuck with something. I will do a snow dance for both of you out here in the yard, and there will be about 2 foot of powder ready in the resort for your arrival. Ally |
