Looks like snow has come with a lot of wind! Courmayeur should be a good bet for tomorrow as a lot of the resort should of had some shelter from it.
Amount of wind scour in Balme today was amazing, has done a lot of damage to snow pack. W and N Alps needs to get some snow without wind for the first time this season. Forecast does not look promising. |

Interesting comments from VSB about steepness. Have to say looking at video it did appear that you would struggle to ski if the snow was much deeper. Japan is definitely on my list of to do but probably not that resort from looking at terrain. Tree spacing did however look amazing, confirming Europe probably got the worst deal of the major ski areas when that was dished out.

Nice video cut, am not sure I agree with ski resorts running cannons for the sake of it though. Difficult to think of anything that consumes so much power and water that serves no purpose in what has turned out to be normal year for resort depths.

Last time I moved skis to a resort used my brothers garden furniture umbrella cover. Place some clothes around your skis and good to go. Reality is after 1st hr your skis will have some cosmetic damage, so anything that protects edges and base is sufficient.

Most of the high resorts close 1st week of May. As long as you accept that you will need to get up early to make the most of conditions and bin down to resort level then plenty of options available. That time of year plenty of hotel and flight space so just book the week before.
