When I was stretchered off in VT, the Police attended and I was asked if I wanted to bring a charge of assault against the woman who ran into me and broke my collarbone. The Skiers Code is printed on most lift maps and usually prominently displayed at lift stations. Purchasing a ticket obliges you to meet the co.'s t&c's. A Court will use the Skier's Code to determine who is at fault as both parties are deemed to know about it. |

That observation alone should be enough to make you stop and consider why a nice bit of pow is untouched. If you want to pass outside the marker poles, treating the mountain as a Theme Park will not work as a strategy. |

Trencher, that's a shame. You could get some skins, and keep on skiing :D

As a hugely broad generalisation, I believe the slopes in Ischgl are less steep than in St Anton. Could this account for the snow holding better?

From memory, there are large signposts at piste juctions, among them are 3v signs which are the ones to follow for the routes between the valleys.
Do take note of the opening and closing times of the lifts. It's eye wateringly expensive to have to get a taxi back via the valley! Every lift pass office will offer area maps. Suggest you buy Carte (Carre) Neige with your lift ticket. If you are injured and need to call for help it will make your life easier. Expect to pay 2-3 Euros a day. Most pistes are groomed daily, the only likely exception are Itineraries, and bump fields. This being France, there is no queue etiquette at all, sharpen your elbows ) |
