But... if we put them all in this one thread then it'll get unmanageable and difficult to navigate (to find the resort you're interested in).

How about a thread for each resort, titled something like "Verbier - Quick Reviews" in the appropriate country forum (e.g. Switzerland), and then you can put your own rating under the appropriate resort. That way anyone looking into a particular ski area (as we do!) can find a range of opinions.

If you agree, then just post a one line reply here with the resort you want to rate and I'll create the Thread and move people's comments across from this thread?

Sound like a plan?

But.......the ratings already uploaded refer to resorts in different countries. It may be better to leave as is but keep everyone posting in the format that Andyhull started (which is nice and clear)? People really should try to rate more than one resort as well so comments/markings can be placed in a proper context. Personally I don't find it as helpful if someone only lists one resort and states that it is the best in the universe (with no cons...)

My twopenneth anyway :P

10/10 :D
Its village is family friendly and the the skiing will satisfy even the best of skiers. A preponderance of upper intermediate pistes will make the majority of skiers and their families holiday one of the best ever.

A ski area "cut in the trees" so even if there are "white out" conditions or high winds you can still ski and visibility is not a problem and the lifts are still operational.

A fantastic snow making infrastructure insures great skiing from early December to mid April.

Inexpensive lift passes (in all of France)!

From anywhere in the UK and most of Europe ... you can fly into (GVA) Geneva International Airport in less than 1 hour. Another 1hr. 10min...easy drive and you have arrived.

Mike, thanks for the review, but to carry weight, you do need to review other resorts so that your scoring can be seen in 'context'.

Do I get a prize if I'm the first to upload my ratings?
Should I go to France?

What's wrong with France? I genuinely don't understand people's concerns. I've skied there 3 times, holidayed in Paris 5 or 6 times. Previously had a great time in the Dordogne and Brittany.

We hired our skis this summer from a french outfit. The owner and his wife couldn't have been more friendly. Ditto for the bike hire shop.

'The food is not great' - I can't believe that!! People might not like the prices but I don't think I've ever had a bad meal/bad sandwich/bad coffee in France. In this country it's a complete lottery....

Putting to one side the long flight, meagre mountain restaurant facilities and lack of an atmosphere, is a trip to Olympus Mons worth it?

On the plus side, I understand that the slopes are quiet, the natives friendly (at least the ones without ray guns) and, most importantly, you do get 22,000m vertical.

If anyone has been, I would be interested in some feedback.

I have them as my arches were proved to be collapsing when I was measured up for my boots. However, that assumes that you will own your own pair. If you are renting I'm not sure if you'll be able to slot in generic insoles. Someone else might know.
