Ski Pants for Women

Hmm! Supreme tactics that I think my OH may already have used on me when he bought his new ski boots last year. :(

Obviously works so I'll do my best!

Meanwhile, I'm looking at loads of ski pants - thanks for all the great ideas.

By the way, we'll be in the Bristol / Bath area over Christmas - SnowandRock Filton is the nearest store - any others worth a visit for clothing ?

Thanks Carol,

Just the sort of thing I'm looking for but can't imagine I'd convince my OH that £370 is worth it, I'm having trouble convincing myself.

Can anyone recommend a label that makes ski clothing for curvy women?
Fed up with baggy salopettes, I'm looking for some stretchy or soft-shell ski pants. I like the look of the Brilliant pants from Salomon but as a rule I have always found them on the skimpy side size-wise.

Any women out there found some comfortable ski pants designed for curves greater than a size 16? :-)

Never, ever paid 15€ for a coffee....anywhere. Perhaps you forgot the big slice of cake you had with it;-)

We usually use www.meteofrance.com to check what's happening in France.
There's a Montagne section at the top of the main map where you can zoom into the different mountain areas for detailed reports.
On French tv channel TF1 at lunchtime today they were predicting a few flakes of snow over the weekend but snow throughout next week.

We skied down into Chatel from Avoriaz last season and found some wonderful runs, such fun in fact, that we'd like to go back and do it properly in better conditions. We haven't skied on the village side so I can't express an opinion on that.
The area around Plaine Dranse was good and there are plenty of cute mountain restaurants around there. The good news is that an old 2-seater chairlift there has been replaced with a 6-seater detachable this season which should speed things up a bit.
Chatel itself is a very pretty village, it's part of the Portes du Soleil ski area so you'd have plenty of skiing on your doorstep if you don't mind taking a bus or driving a short distance and there's cross-border skiing into Switzerland.
See www.chatel.com for more info.

What about Le Grand Bornand? At just over 8 hours from Calais this is one of the nearest resorts. Stay up at Chinaillon where there's easy access to the slopes rather than in the main village. Or, consider La Clusaz, even shorter drive and a great ski area but slightly more difficult to find accommodation quite so close to the slopes. There's a fantastic debutants ski area jardin d'enfants at the top of the Beauregard gondola.

If you've got an iPhone, download the free app WiFi finder.
Otherwise, look on the tourist website and there's a list of services and bars etc. I just had a quick look and there are several which mention they have wifi or an internet point.
