I'm literally modifying it as we speak. Turns out the diameter of the pole is a little small. Though nothing a bit of electrical tape won;t sort.

I'd disagree. There are indeed ample areas, and runs for advanced skiing, but I'd say it's more of an intermediates paradise.

Ryanvp - I'd suggest Tignes. It depends on how quick you pick stuff up (my first time on snow, I was stepping into parallels on my second day) but you should be fine. There's a couple of tranquil ski areas in the Espace Killy area, and enough blue runs to keep you occupied for the week. The most important of your requirements is snow, particularly that time of year, and Tignes has a pretty good record.
