Ski boots as hand baggage are an area of confusion at the moment - last season there were airports that wouldn't allow them, whilst some did, but also different policies for different airlines (and even different routes)...
Either wear them and deal with the ridicule 8) or pack them inside a big bag for the hold; less chance of a "sports equipment" supplement then - and, as Tony points out, they'll be much better protected that way. |

Can't recommend a specific model... but how do you hold your skis? Well serviced skis have sharp edges and if you pick your skis up by grabbing across the ski (so your fingers wrap around the edges) then you will tend to slice up your gloves; just a thought.
For warmth; have you tried silk inner-gloves (available at many ski shops)? They can help immensely. You can also buy mittens to wear over the gloves too, which might work well with small hands. |

Olympic Snowboarder Dan Wakeham and 2008 British Freeski Slopestyle Champion James Webb be throwing down some huge air and crowd-pleasing tricks. Hi Mary, welcome to j2ski...
I'm pretty sure Arc 2000 has at least one free lift for beginners that serves a Green run of a good length. There are some good long Blues in the same valley if your beginners progress quickly. Flaine also used to have several free lifts for beginners, as do many other resorts in France; although some are often only serving very short slopes that even the slowest learner will quickly get bored of. HTH... |
