Hey hey, well thanks to J2Ski I met and skied with some very special people last week... as most of you know by now.
With some ski trips it's the snow that makes the trip, sometimes it's the scenery and sometimes the apres... Last week it was the company; can't wait to do it all again. |

As expected... significant quantities of snow this week brought the return of powder skiing conditions to most of the major Alpine area. Areas of the French and Swiss Alps have had anything up to one metre of fresh in the past week, with lesser (though still good) quantities elsewhere. Italy's superb season continues, with upper base depths of more than three metres being reported by half a dozen resorts now, and further South the Spanish resorts of Sierra Nevada and Formigal have two metre bases.
Driving This Weekend Just a quick note for those of you heading out this weekend... be prepared for major snows on your journey. The latest in a succession of snowfalls is in progress tonight (Friday) and likely to affect much of the Swiss, French, Italian and Austrian Alps. The Pyrenees, French and Spanish, will also be in on the action. Snow will continue through the weekend and snow-chains will likely be required to reach many resorts. Although this is an off-peak weekend, travel disruptions are possible in the most popular areas. Weather and Snow Next Week What can we say? If conditions this week were "Classic", next week they're set to go "Epic"! As noted above, major snowfall will occur through the weekend with frequent heavy snows through until Tuesday. There's a possibility of clearer weather late in the week. This is likely to be the pattern across most of The Alps for at least the next week. That do you lucky sods that are heading out this weekend??? 8) |

That was my line, dude! 8) This afternoon brought us a couple of the sort of runs we all live for; Dave (The Legend) Mac and I tucked into the un-tracked by the trees, either side of the piste and just blasting... :D :D :D :D
Fixed that for you... And a shout out to Ross for the help with the Goggles - the Crowbars are superb; really clear, great contrast and no fogging... sorted. |

Yes, it's true... clicked my heels and woke up in Niederau this morning.
Started the day in fine style meeting Mr and Mrs Caron-a for our trip on the Big Orange Ski Bus from Gatwick. I'd not flown into Innsbruck before so that was cool - has to be one of the most impressive approaches, through the mountains, to any airport anywhere and a great way to start a ski hol. Off the plane, no Q for passports and barely time for a wee visit before the bags were out and off we went. Collected by Mr and Mrs Jan within 15 minutes of getting off the plane and then whisked up to Niederau. The Auhof is an impressive and tastefully appointed apartment house "on the sunny side" with great views across to Niederau's pistes (partly obscured by falling snow as I'm writing this - yay!). Top hospitality - we were all made to feel very welcome from the word go. 8) Had a fine afternoon's skiing - trying to keep up with Dave Mac (who is pretty darn quick for any age of skier - Tony H take note) and was delighted to see Caron-a's first post-injury runs ending with smiles! Will post more with some pics later.
That wasn't what we meant when we said you skied like the wind...
You must have rear-view mirrors Dave... 8) I can confirm that Dave The Legend Mac doppler-shifts from blue to red as he passes at light speed... Snow now falling quite heavily - should be lots of soft by the end of the day and freshies tomorrow! :D :D :D |

Yep, most Tour Operators take a (very) large margin on Ski Hire to help them reduce their headline prices. Snowrental have a good reputation on price, but you should be able to get a competitive quote from our partners SkiSet via http://les-deux-alpes.skiset.co.uk/j2ski/ - be interested to know how we compare actually (by PM if you like) for your particular week. |

Hi Liquorice... welcome to J2Ski...
Our last Snow report for Courchevel says 80cm up top, and the Courchevel Snow Forecast is looking pretty snowy for next week (longer range forecast looking pretty good too). Enjoy... |
