Indeed... minor word of warning though; the E+O jacket sizing appears to be somewhat generous - I'm a 42" chest, but their 42 was way too big and I've gone with a 40 (which is still on the roomy side). Next week my jacket will be mainly lurking on the slopes of Les Deux Alpes (and La Grave if I can work up enough brownie points)... courtesy of a half-price package booked on Monday night... :D :D Noticed edge2edge have some good (up to 50%) deals on jackets for the laydeez at the moment. |

In short, no, you'll be fine. There's loads of snow - and snow always holds up surprisingly well when it's sunny; rain is the real killer. Providing you don't get too much rain, you'll be experiencing "Spring Skiing" which is great for beginners and early skiers. You might need to stop for an extra coffee first thing as the pistes will be very hard until they get the sun on them or the air warms. Once the very top of the snow has softened you'll find it easy and smooth to ski on. You might find it a bit slushy in the afternoon but it's very forgiving. Also on the plus side... you'll likely get some sunshine and be able to sit outside the cafes/restos on the mountain... sweet. 8) |

They're currently offloading a load of their product at about 40% off the original price through born4sports. Just got one of their jackets from the above. Not yet worn on active service but it looks well made with high quality zips, taped seams and all the technical details that make a functional jacket. Appears to be made by Nevica (famous for assaulting the eyes with their dayglo in the 80s)... at least that's whose name is on the box it came in! I'll be testing it next week... 8) |

It really depends what you want from your skiing.
For big mileage, easier skiing go for Cervinia. For more challenge go for Zermatt. I'd go for Zermatt but both are good ski areas with lots to offer, and both will usually have good snow in January. |

The majority of European resorts will have closed by the end of April, so you need to look at the very highest like Tignes, Val Thorens, Hintertux, etc. and make a call as to what sort of skiing you want.
Tignes is open until the 10th May, not sure about the others. With the snow there has been so far this year, there should be a good base right through to the end. Expect typical Spring skiing conditions but at those altitudes there's a reasonable chance of fresh even at the end of April. |
