Good point Trencher and Emma. I think you unclip your straps and buckles then just lean forward out of your boots and place your feet into a pair of fur lined slippers :D I must admit that I expend too much energy getting out of mine at the end of a days skiing. Perhaps the group I ski with in February would all chip in quid each and we could invest in one

I saw and tried one of these at S&R and it works very well but still a little bit overpriced in MHO.

12-15 cms of snow in our area of Surrey yesterday. Just got the OH's car out of the drive (incline and icy)and she is making her way to work. Next snow indicated for tomorrow. I hope the Christmas skiers get away ok with the disrupted flights and weather etc.

Hi Emma,

The best of times always go to quickly. We had the perfect (winter) storm whilst in resort which restricted the amount of skiing options however, we still managed to ski every day and I thoroughly enjoyed our third white week in as many years in Obergurgl. Now looking forward to Pasa, Andorra in 49 days :D

Matt, Hope you get away ok
Bumped for phase two of the "winter Blast"

Snow on and off most of Today in Surrey. With more on route on Saturday and Sunday. -4 at the present time, roads looking dangerous again!
How do you keep warm on the slopes?

I agree with Finn, a good quality jacket and salos with minimum layers seems to do the trick. We went up the Festkogl chair in Obergurgl last week just prior to it being closed due to high winds and snow. It was -9 in the village at 1930m and we were close to 3000m with a shere wind and snow blowing straight through us. God knows what the windchill factor was  Needless to say, and in keeping with Ian and Tony's suggestion we did not hang around and skied like mad to get some shelter from the elements. It was the worst conditions I have ever skied in and being a smoker at altitude I was struggling for breath (must give up this year) As Finn said, I was fine apart from my face and neck. I unpacked my balaclava for the rest of the holiday and kept moving when possible.
