As it's France you could find Cheval on the menu, but AFAIK they don't eat dog in the Tarentaise  |

Both Zurich and Milan are around 200km which is about the biggest distance. Here are the rest.. http://www.j2ski.com/ski_resorts/Switzerland/St_Moritz.html Not sure where Igluski are flying folks into??? Edit: just looked on their site, and Geneva is suggested, which has to be a joke. Like suggesting Munich as a gateway for Andorra maybe  |

Skiers who have yet to understand that Snowboarders have a big blind spot when they turn 1 side. |

Les Arcs might fit the bill. Plenty of variation in the slopes, a broad, mixed ski area, possibility of La Plagne linked in on the Paradiski Pass. Lots of ski in/ski out. Big altitude range, tree lined and open faces, prices moderate when compared to other Tarentaise resorts.

There are (to my knowledge) no larger resorts in the vicinity. Switzerland does not really do ski in/ski out, resorts are much older and more established, they grew from farming villages and Health Spas mostly.

Engelberg is a fab resort. It's got the feel of a real destination, and the transport links are top notch. However I'm not sure about the resort for a J2Skier week. There is no ski in-ski out for starters, buses or walk to the main Titlis lift. The biggest attraction of Engelberg is the off piste, again I'm not sure that it would provide the right kind of skiing for the majority of the group.

I bet they didn't lock it! Can't leave anything out these days -)
Someone will notice the arrival of a new (used) lift. What's next, a groomer or two? |

Equipment advances have changed expectations.
Fat skis turn everyone into a ski god (sic) The mountain has become a Theme Park, where everyone can get a thrill with an overriding assumption that it's been made safe by "the resort". Not understanding that resorts have a finite responsibility. Not comprehending that buying safety kit will not help you to survive unless you understand how to make safe choices in the 1st place. Analogue transceivers still have the greatest range, but do need lots of practice. |
