And now they've all gone can we talk about MY holiday. 7 sleeps to go!!!!!! :D

I think you have to start your own thread to do that, unless you're going to Livigno as well :?:  :D

Could we please have a table of who's going where - I am totally confused. About half the regulars seem to be off but I'm having an awful job trying to remember where they're all going - except for Gadgetgirl because she and her potential infant are off to Courchevel where we went :D

OMG Kathy,
That sounds really terrifying! You're very brave to be off ski-ing again after all that. How long ago did it happen?

Thanks Bandit, it does look pretty impressive. I wonder if they all owned their kilts or whether they hired them for the day? I bet a proper kilt is quite expensive to buy.

I think it is possible to take the lining part of the helmet out to wash it (very necessary if you have a sweaty head). I'm pretty sure my new helmet had instructions with it about how to remove the ear muffs for washing. Unfortunately I have, as usual, binned all the instructions

I wonder if Ian still has the instructions on how to wash his socks? :D

I think the inside of my head may be like Ian's socks (soft and fluffy) but the outside of my head is quite hard

Hi EmmaEvs,
Welcome to the Forum :D

It's nice to hear something from someone new here. This year was my first year for wearing a helmet as well - but my head didn't get sweaty. My new helmet has lots of holes in the top of it, for vents I suppose.

One of the good things about helmets and hats, is that they hide one's bald patches and grey hair, which is something becoming increasingly important to me as I get older. It was quite a shock when my afternoon instructor took us all into a mountain cafe for a hot chocolate (because it was snowing quite heavily and he was being nice) to see what everyone looked like without their hats/helmets on

Really gadgetgirl, how exciting! Oh well, there's nothing like starting them off young, and 6 weeks or whatever gestation sounds pretty young to me. Just think, they'll have been down a red run, and maybe even a black one, before they're even born

I wouldn't worry too much about the effect of ski-ing on the baby, at an early stage like that they're pretty small and well protected. I just hope you're feeling okay, and not sick or anything.

I remember (more wibble everyone) when I was about 6 weeks pregnant with my second daughter, my husband and I were training a new heifer to walk through the milking parlour and she rushed the door and totally flattened me against a concrete block wall. I was really worried because I was pretty badly squashed, but the baby was fine (she's the one going off piste now and telling her old mother to hurry up and ski faster).

So I'd say just ski sensibly (no somersaults or whatever they're called in the snowpark) and you'll be fine.

Have a great trip, and I hope everything goes well for you and the baby :D
