Big advantage of a helmet, compared to a hat, is the ventilation that stops you getting too sweaty - a beanie's going to stuff that up (literally!).
No change for me - usually wear a lid nowadays and will be investing in a new one this year.

Yep, we'd have to close it down to keep our resort secret... 8)
This just in from those very nice people at Snoworks :-

SNOW ALERT IN TIGNES

If you are coming out to Tignes in the near future we have some great news. Over the past few days snow has been literally dumping down in Tignes and this is due to continue for the remainder of this week. Unfortunately for those here in Tignes at the moment the glacier has been closed due to blizzards. The run all the way to Val Claret from the Grand Motte is due to open this weekend which will be the earliest opening of the 'double m' linking the glacier to the village of Val Claret we can remember.

For a look at the current snow in the village at 2000m: http://www.tignes.net/en/ski-a-tignes/webcams-290.html

These aren't the resorts you're looking for... 8)

It does seem that the outrageous habit of charging to use a poorly maintained loo is rather too common in the big resorts; don't recall being charged in Les Arcs though, or Les Deux Alpes.

I'm with Wickers; never encountered it at all in the more "French" resorts.

Aye! :D

Looks like a warm front will push through today with a little rain (boo!) but temps will drop tomorrow with more snow (yay!) through Thursday... probably.

What are you looking for though? It's pretty meaningless to try and compare ski resorts without knowing what you're looking for.
