That's great Nelly :)
So are you all fixed now? Knee better?
Thanks, that's great news about the new chairlift :)

Oh, and I am going to Sauze d'Oulx with the others, 11th - 18th January, staying in the Sauze hotel :)

But I'm going on the train. Luckily there's a direct train from Paris to Oulx station which is only something like 10 minutes from Sauze. I haven't done this journey before, but it doesn't look any harder than going to the 3 valleys, or Tignes, by the indirect route - Eurostar followed by French train, with a change of stations in Paris.

Maybe you should do a try-out for the movies? ;)

In spite of having several very keen cameramen on the group holiday to Folgarida no-one managed to film me actually at the moment of falling over, although someone did manage to catch me a few seconds after! :)

Thanks very much for the video Bald-Eagleman. My favourite bit was the catapult fall at the end :)

Why thank you Icy (and Billip 1) :)

I know I should really carry a lock and cable around with me and lock up my hired skis when I'm in a cafe, but I just can't be bothered with the extra effort involved. I suppose I will start doing it if my skis get nicked and the insurers refuse to pay up because the skis weren't locked up. I have noticed that insurance companies are becoming increasingly adept at avoiding paying out on claims for things in general ... :(

I usually ask the hire shop to stick a label on the skis with my name on, so that I don't get confused and accidentally take the wrong skis, and so that no-one accidentally takes mine.
Apart from the issue of stolen skis, I reckon it would be quite dangerous to use the wrong skis with a different din setting, although I suppose if the other person had a much larger or smaller boot size the skis wouldn't go on, so it would be noticeable that they were the wrong skis.

Tying a ribbon on is quite a good idea, Jadavi. I sometimes tie a multicoloured sock on my suitcase, so no-one takes it at the airport by mistake, which is a similar sort of idea .
