Hi, we're looking at heading to Canada from 12th to 26th December this year before the little one turns 2 (and we have to pay for him).
Have looked at a number of resorts from Whistler to Big White and Banff. Think that we have decided on Panorama as has a good selection of runs (wife is low intermediate and I am more advanced intermediate). Only real concern aside from the village being quiet is whether 12th December is a little early for snow. If any of you kind folk have experience at this time of year in these resorts or others it would be appreciated. Ski in/out is near essential as can't be doing with a drive back to resort if the kid needs picking up early... |

We got some boots for the wife and yes, totally agree with above and have been looking at fit before price. Still to find any that fit me well as ran out of time and am not going to rush getting a pair. The quest continues. |

Cheers, popped in to Bartletts yesteday. Good selection (more than on the web-site) and spent a couple of hours trying out boots/footbeds. Got to a point where foot was fine (in a pair of Fischers), but was getting bruised across the outside of my shin (felt like brusing down the tendon). So have left it and am going back in this afternoon to try again. Naively I didn't realise that off the shelf footbeds were about £40 a pair which may push out of budget.
Fitting seemed ok, though nothing to compare it to. The wife is also going in to try a few pairs today too so shall let you know how it goes. |

You'd recommend them for price / fitting ability then I assume. Have never heard of them but they are only down the road from where I work. Anyone else have experience of Ski Bartlett? |

Great, thanks. Think anyone would mind if I planted our 1yr old in the snow and picked him up later in the day!?

Cheers all, eventually found the other thread on the Tunnel. Looks like "fun" and having looked at the youtube clips of people sliding down the other side looks like one to go for. Shall probably change my mind when I get to the lip!
Looks like getting across to ADH from Vaujany with a 1 year old could be a bit of a mission. Have heard that there is not much space for mucking around in the snow in the immediate area of Vaujany - anyone know if this is the case? |

Have just booked for mid march - hopefully will still be good skiing at that time of year? Staying in Vaujany as apparently has a good nursery for the kids (1yo and 3 yo).
Should I be considering attempting the Tunnel as a intermediate? It looks dead steep on pictures - and pictures never ever tell the full story do they! Also, anyone know how possible it is to get from Vaujany to A d'Huez without skis? - To take the kids across to play. Can't wait and still got over 9 weeks to go! :D |
