Just watched Balls of Steel, amazing what some people will do. I am so glad I live in an isolated rural community where callers of this kind are unheard of!! Very funny though......

We are starting to collate the things that people want from their accommodation. This helps to identify the resorts that can offer those facilities, some can't and so will be ruled out automatically. We are looking at chalet hotels specifically, half board. So opinions on whether we need to make sure the resort is snow sure, chalet is ski in/ski out etc are all questions that need to be asked. any thoughts would be helpful on what should be expected as a minimum. Then we can come up with a list of 5-10 resorts. We are still working on the date, this will influence the price. Input required please. :D I have found that the best places are already fully booked for 2013, so it's not too early to be making a list, then we can be first in the queue for 2014 .

I took my first tentative steps on the local dry slope. I wanted to be able to put on my boots and skis like I knew what I was doing as a minimum before I went to a proper resort. It taught me a lot, including how hard and nasty dry slopes are (they should be taken to task by Trading Standards as they are sprayed with water and are anything but dry!). However, here in the flatest part of the country, we have to use them if we want to ski!!
Just don't put your fingers through the holes if you fall, can be very nasty!

Ah I remember it well...............

Most scary moment for me was finding myself in fog and not being able to see the edge of the piste/steep drop off. Serious sense of humour failure at that point.

Perhaps the reason there are few sacry photos is because the last thing you think to do in a really scary situation is take out your camera and pose??
