I've only ever used Thomsons but they are closely tied in with Crystal. My only problem was on my first trip with them when, being a novice, I had failed to navigate the booking procedure properly on the Thomson website, hence had not only booked myself a first time ski package, which included lessons, equipment and lift pass, but, not realising this, I'd also booked myself a separate lift pass and separate ski hire too (dumb, I know .. but it shouldn't be possible to do imho, at least without flagging up a query on the webpage). The reps in resort were pretty sympathetic but wouldn't sort it out there and then, and so on my return home I wrote a letter to Mr Big at Thomson, thanking him for a great holiday and then explaining that it was possible for the uninitiated to pay twice via their website. Within a few days a cheque for £ 220 dropped on my mat. (I still think the website allows this to happen though !)

What a great watch; thanks for posting Andy. I particularly loved the long shadows. I'd certainly have been putting in a few (a lot) more turns than that guy and would have had a stop or two en route too ! Certainly gets the juices flowing in anticipation of ski trip nr 1 this year the week after next, to Uttendorf.

Did the airlines learn this ripoffery from the banks, or is it the other way round ?

This is an astonishing story ! And Crystal didn't care ? |

That will be it; don't know why I didn't think of that in the first place :)
It was actually a very weird thing to see and I momentarily felt a bit disoriented, like when you see someone you know from one environment in a totally different place. |

Dave: I was driving up the M6 earlier this week en route to Glasgow. Up near Carlisle I passed a large soft-sided truck, bedecked in red with the logo "Wildschoenauer Bergbahnen" emblazoned across the side. I wondered whether you are perhaps investing in a lift for one of the Scottish resorts ?

Is it April 1st already ?

OK, daft question: are you more likely to injure yourself skiing with a longer ski (more potential torque if you fall etc?), or is it just a trade off between speed and ease of use ?
