New to France....where to go?

Tignes - We stay in La Vanoise in Val Claret. Nothing too fancy, but very good value, and couldn't be closer to the slopes.
Have driven from both Chambery and Turin. It's really easy to get too, but as the others have said the weather will play it's part.

First time was fine, didn't need snow tyres or chains. Second time was OK, but we had to put the chains on to get around Val Claret. There's a few small, steep hills in the town, and you'll definitely get stuck without at least snow tyres if they've had a decent dump of snow in the week.

We're driving door to door this time, should be good fun.

Couloir was ok. Not sure what it's like later on in the evening, but a good laugh after a few.

Le Studio (at least I think it was that one) is probably a good place to start.

I was pretty disappointed with the bars in Tignes to be honest. Either we were going out to early, or the resort was quiet.

Not that that mattered too much to be honest. I'm usually knackered after a days skiing and only fancy a few beers in the evening.

Nice bar but damn expensive, even by Tignes standards!
Having had a proper look at that link, and depending on your flight times, a bus will probably be a good option.
You can get a bus from Geneva, but a car hire will probably be cheaper. Not sure of toll's from Geneva though.

Be sure to insure!
