Well at least you got something Snapzzz :D

If you don't like toblerone, just send it along to me

I'm very partial to a bit of toblerone

My husband and I don't bother with things like Valentines cards etc. We've been married for over 27 years and we're both still here and we continue to get on really well and have a good laugh together, which I think is what really matters in the end :D

I think with my personal worries/dislikes/hates I've got to:

18. I really hate the fact that I've had 6 weeks of lessons now and I am STILL stuck on some of the basics - like failing to keep my upper body facing downhill and ski-ing with my skis too far apart. It REALLY ANNOYS me when I see other skiers effortlessly skimming past me with perfect style and technique!

And I think I have pretty much ALL the worries and pet hates that everyone else has already expressed.

I can think of some more things I hate/dislike:

13. The snow, sometimes. Like, for example, trying to ski on snow like pebbles of concrete, or deep powder like porridge (just kept falling over and the instructor said it's almost impossible to ski on snow like that, although he managed it okay).

14. Badly drawn up piste maps where either the grade/colour of the piste is wrong (in my opinion) or the layout is wrong.

15. Wasting a day because it's so windy all the lifts have shut.

16. Trying to ski when it's about minus 30 degrees C and there's a 'hurricane' going on and the snow is blowing right in my face like ice daggers and manages to find a way in even though I'm all muffled up.

17. Trying to ski when thick fog suddenly comes down and I can't even see the next pole marker and I'm afraid I'm going to get lost or fall off a precipice.

Oh yes, thanks Iceman, I forgot about that one :D

12. Worrying that I won't be able to sleep at night and I'll be too tired to ski the next day because of the altitude, the strange bed, all the excitement, the snow-plough machines going all night and all the drunks yelling outside my window.

Oh and it seems to be a perfect example of the trouble I sometimes have with the smilies etc. even though I am not using a mobile.

There are lots of things I hate about ski-ing

1. Worrying I'm going to get ill or hurt myself so I won't be able to go.

2. Trying to get all the work done at home so that I can get away for a week.

3. Trying to earn enough money so that I can afford the ski holiday. The last couple of ski holidays have cost me about £1100 per head including transport, accommodation, ski hire, lift passes, and lessons.

4. Worrying I've forgotten some vital piece of paper - like my insurance details or the receipt for the lift passes, or that my passport has gone out of date and I haven't noticed.

5. Worrying that something has gone wrong with the booking system and when I get there they won't have an apartment for us.

6. Worrying that I've forgotten how to ski and I'm going to get chucked out of my lessons and put in the beginners classes.

7. Worrying that one of us is going to get lost or hurt on the mountain.

8. Worrying that my glasses are going to steam up and I won't be able to see where I'm going.

9. Worrying that I'm going to be too fat to get my salopettes on.

10. Worrying that I'm going to make a mess of getting off the chair lift and knock the other 5 people on the chair lift over.

11. Worrying that there will be loads of snow and I'm going to have to ski in deep powder and I'll fall over and get lost/hurt/look a total idiot.

In fact - looking at that long list I don't think I'm going to bother booking another ski holiday

I think it's a general problem with the smilies. Sometimes they don't work for me either - and I'm using a ground based computer

What an awful thing to happen!

Well done for getting it sorted

I've photocopied all our passports and leave a copy at home as well as taking a copy with us. And I always keep my passport on me when I'm on holiday. My elderly parents had their passports stolen once out of my mum's handbag whilst they were actually in the airport, and they had to go to the British Embassy as well.
