SKI ADVICE

Okay, I hate to admit it, but it appears I am totally wrong!

I have never seen such awful pink skis in all my life - but here they are:

Mind you, I don't think I could stand ski-ing on these myself, and I AM female

Iceman, you can't tell whether skis are ladies or men's just by looking at them. The only reason I knew my male instructor was on ladies' skis was because we'd had those exact skis the year before and I recognized them.

I do remember Bandit saying something about the bindings being in a slightly different position on ladies' skis because their centre of gravity is meant to be in a different position on the ski. And, also, ladies' skis are generally more flexible and lighter etc. since women are supposed to be lighter and weaker than men.

Iceman,
I can see now why the apartment manager got after you with the mop! If you'd been in my holiday cottage and sliced up the sheets like that with skis I'd have had something to say, for sure!

(That's actually pretty clever editing)

I think you're about to get snipped. I hope you have plenty of anaesthetic
How to put more pressure on your toes
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 22 Replies
I never think about my toes at all when I'm ski-ing. In fact, in one lesson they told us to think about our big toes leading the turn and it totally confused me. I just concentrate on making sure my shins stay forward against the front of my boots and I keep 'thinking' forward (i.e. I don't lean back against the slope away from the scary drop in front of me!).

Ian,
If you're prepared to sell your surplus ski gear and you have some salopettes, maybe you should send the OP a pm asking them their size, and if you have anything suitable you could maybe negotiate a mutually agreable price for it?

Ian,
Put the ski gear you don't want in a charity shop and then some very poor person (like me) can buy it cheap

Alistair - I don't know how much the last person paid for the Helly Hanson ski jacket, but I should think it must have been at least £150.

I bought a brand new Helly Hansen ski jacket for £8 a few weeks ago in a charity shop. That's my best bargain so far :D
