Hi Pavel,
Have you tested your elastic when ski-ing by getting a ski pole stuck in a tree? And if so, what happens? Does the slip knot undo or does the elastic break? I'm not really sure what the breaking strength of sewing elastic is - it might be stronger than it looks.

I didn't think of that one Pavel. I shall have to add it to my list of worries about ski holidays

Your trick with elastic sounds like a pretty good idea - cheap and easy to use :D

It's okay Tropicana, I don't think you're an axe murderer :D

I would have gone ski-ing with you, if I could have got away from all the work at home, so naturally I am totally convinced of your sanity

And, anyway, I used to hitch lifts when I was younger before I had a car and these days I still give people a lift if they stick their thumb out and I have room in the car.

Let's get this straight, shall we? Do I have to censor my posts from now on so that they're suitable for 5 year olds as well as 10 year olds (and the rest of us?)

Yes, the Dolphins image is a really great shot 8)

I know what you mean Bandit. I have a lovely photo of 3 elephants crossing the Zambezi river - 3 very small dots that only I know are elephants because I was there

Thanks Marksman :D

I must buy myself some of those. Oh, no, hang on a minute ... how am I going to get them in my suitcase? They don't collapse do they?

Ally... your comments to that thread were very funny. But it went beyond something you'd want to be explaining to your 10-year-old daughter (as was very bluntly - though not unreasonably - communicated to me).

Hi Admin,
I guess my daughters and I must be very unusual, because I'd have had no trouble explaining those jokes to them when they were 10 years old (at a suitable level for their current level of knowledge of things romantic).

But I have been down this road before. The only time I ever got called into the Headmasters office on account of my children's behaviour was when my 5 year old younger daughter had very loudly 'whispered' the true facts about Father Christmas to her friend during morning assembly. I had judged that she was ready for the truth, but apparently the rest of the kids, staff, and parents were not

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed our jokes before public pressure meant you had to wipe the thread

Ally
Thanks very much J2SkiNews. It gave me a terrible shock the way all our hard work just vanished like that

And I have no idea how to get it back from the Google cache :?:
