You are not wrong there Ally.

I had to hold myself back when my eldest announced he was going to cycle to Italy last year, on a bike he bought for £notverymuch on e-bay.

He survived (caught the train most of the way) even though he and his mate did take to sleeping on roundabouts. Apparently it was the only camp site they could find at short notice in the city!

The ignorance/enthusiasm of youth
Gosh, I would have to be on holiday for weeks and weeks to take advantage of that....... what a good idea!!
My son (ski instructor) sits on his!

My bum is too bony for that
I have encountered getting my boots stuck under the front edge of a ski lift chair, just before getting off. If you move your feet back in anticipation of getting off, as the chair continues to lower, sometimes it can catch the back of your boots as your feet come into contact with the ground. It causes a momentary panic as it compresses the boot before it releases and prevents you from moving, which is enough to destabilise you and cause you to fall.

Well I did anyway
Ski vocabulary question

I agree with Pavel

The way I understand Accessibility is literally how easy something is to access i.e. how easy it is to obtain. The dictionary definition also says this means how easy it is to use, so it is the correct word in this context, although it is not often used in this way in the English language, in my experience.

Whereas Useability is defined as how you use something, or how you employ it for a purpose. This would seem to be a more common word to use (pardon the pun) for this purpose.

But Ally's idea of using a diagram is an excellent one. I guess all you are trying to achieve is to make the categorising as simple and as easy to understand as possible?

Good Luck.

I have a cross trainer in the bathroom gathering dust. I usually try to use it every other day in the run up to the ski season (i'm too lazy the rest of the year). Just a 20 min session on that with a program that warms up and cools down i.e. the hardest part is in the middle, is usually enough to get some strength back into my legs. It worked well for me last season.

How about "useability"?
Ski carrying device

It's not until you have to carry them up hill that you realise how heavy they are. I always have a problem keeping them together, I usually get tired, jiggle them for comfort and end up with a helicopter shaped device that slides off and takes someones knee caps with it

I have tried the handbag technique using my poles and handles but they slide out of this too. I do have one of those velcro strap thingys but I always forget to take it with me

Any innovation would be welcomed but as skiing has been around such a long time, I am suspecting most ways of carrying have been tried and everyone goes back to the usual over shoulder technique because it is the most effective.
