a pain, it's falling as rain lower down, I was climbing over in France today and we got rained of the crag in the end although we got half a dozen routes in first.
what are you looking for though? cute alpine charm? ski in ski out? etc etc
Sion is a hard landing and few planes or pilots are rated for it which is why there's so few flights, public transport from GVA is easy though, there's a direct train from GVA to Sion.

Nendaz is popular with UK families and has it's own ski area with a lot of intermediate runs with some haphazard links to the rest of the 4 valles, it's very popular.

ise - thanks for the googling, very impressive, have saved this in readiness for snowboard holiday next year

why on earth would you think I need google? this is nothing other than first hand information.
we went rock climbing having been doing other bits and pieces all day, and it was a great time to go, it was a small local crag and the local uni' were just departing leaving us and another team and finally just us topping out a route as the sun set over the lake. So nice we'll pop round again one night :D

oddly common here, less so in the UK I think? or at least where we lived in the Peak District, I think three of the 6 or 7 in the immediate vicinity here are grey.
