Thanks Admin

I've now edited the Youtube link I put in the thread about the Courchevel toboggan run. I didn't know how to do the last bit before, so I had to leave it as a link to click on.

Are all your very useful instructions on these matters - like how to post photos etc. all collected together somewhere? I'm stuck on how to do multiple quotes from previous pages and I can't work out how to do it.

Thanks Marksman, even if it's not quite perfect :D

Maybe we should make them a bit smaller though :?:

I noticed the site was down too!

How annoying

I got up specially early to start designing and manufacturing ski related smilies and the smiley website's not working

I wonder if there's another website that makes them? Iceman? Anyone?

Ally
Thanks Bandit for putting the videos up

I suppose it's a reminder that a ski resort is not a children's playground - the slopes can be very dangerous

I'm glad everyone was okay :D

I've often worried that the chairlift would stop and I'd be stuck up there, but I never thought the whole thing would be hit by an avalanche.

Mind you, I've seen a lift on the glacier at Tignes after it had been wrecked by the glacier moving.

Hi Marksman, thanks :D

Sorry Iceman

I forgot to say you did a great job making those smilies - and you were pretty quick at it too.

Night night everybody,

Hi Iceman,
Is it legal making them like that? I mean - can we use them without getting in trouble?

It would be really great to have a library of ski related ones like that, that we could use to illustrate our messages with, especially the rather more mundane posts.

So, you and Marksman used photobucket to make yours?

You have to remember that I am really pretty old

When I was in school we still used slide rules and log tables and things. I don't think I even had a calculator until the sixth form. And when I was at Uni we did a programming course on a Commodore 64 and had to learn basic (mind you I was very proud of my A grade for the program I wrote on variance analysis - still got it somewhere).

So - I am hopelessly out of date

I will have a look tomorrow to see how to make ski smilies :D

And maybe in about 10 years time I'll be able to do it

Hi Iceman,
Where did you get those ones from?

I don't know about Marksman, but I'm not really Welsh. I'm a total British mongrel - Irish, Scottish, English and I live in Wales

I was just thinking, there are a lot of very talented J2Skiers and we could really do with some better ski related smilies (sorry Admin I didn't mean to hurt your feelings). Do you think anyone would be interested in making some for us?

I have absolutely no idea how to do it. I find it difficult enough to remember how to turn my computer on, and use the mouse etc. without trying to make animated ski related smilies.

I wonder how hard it is to do?

I was just thinking - how did Marksman make this?

It's very clever

And if he doesn't mind me borrowing it, it could come in very handy for me, so that everytime I ramble off about things like the Welsh flag I could use it as a marker and then people who don't like wibble would know to skip a few paragraphs.

But I could really do with another one, to mark the end of the wibble and the return to ski related subjects so that those people would know when to start reading again

I suppose I could always use something like this:

Or this:

Nugget - have a great time :D

You are now on my list of the 16 (so far) going this week, on the 'how many sleeps' thread.

So you are cleared as a 'go' and can expect no problems from the airport authorities over ski boots in hand luggage etc. etc.
