Dgou,
I'm glad you had a good holiday, but sorry you had a bad time with the TO.

I was on the Altibus (public bus) once, going from Val Thorens down to Moutiers, and when we got to Les Menuires there were enough seats for the people getting on there (because you have to book tickets in advance) but not enough space for their luggage.

I was quite impressed with the bus people, really, because they refused to take the extra people on (as it would have meant filling the aisles with luggage) and got a mini-bus taxi to take them down to Moutiers instead. And I know they all got down there okay because we met them there whilst we were waiting for the Eurostar.

It's surprising that the public bus offers a better quality service than the TO's

No problems with ski boots but my wife who had her helmet hanging off her handbag (and no other hand luggage) had to force it into a friend's rucksack on the insistence of the check-in person, then we saw several other people with helmets hanging off hand lugagge boarding the plane!

Why didn't she just put it on her head :?:

We're so far West that the population here is almost entirely British - born and bred for generations.

Even the Catholics don't seem particularly good at cleaning. I was at a Catholic christening service yesterday and at the party afterwards in their church hall, and I volunteered to do the washing up for about 100 guests, and I was amazed at the state of the sink. I had to go to the local shop and buy some Cif and a scouring pad to give it a really good clean. And I also had to clean the wall all around the bin etc.

I had to promise to give up Satan and Sin (as part of the deal with being a godmother) so I'm not sure I will be able to Wibble any more

Thanks Ian for your report :D

I hope you managed to enjoy yourself a bit in spite of the trouble with your knee and the fact that you don't like Austria.

Our flight was affected by yesterdays powercut in Gatwick.

I'm glad you're safely back Nelly :D

Pity about the power cut at Gatwick

When you know the detailed weather forecast for the Alps for the next 9 days but have no idea about the forecast for where you actually live

You are definitely down to be coming back Jastem

How did it go? Was there any snow? Or are you going to write a long report like Tony?

I guess I've spent too many years keeping my herd movement record book up to date and it doesn't seem right not to know where everyone is
