Feliz Ano Nuevo from Soldeu! Snow required but we're still sliding out here! Pleasure to meet you Malamute, hurry back!

As the reports come in from around Europe it appears that we are once again lucky to be here in Grandvalira. More snow definitely required but all links and main runs are open with good skiing. Have met j2skier Malamute in the Harp. Pop in and have a pint Markinkent!

Well, I was wrong! Conditions greatly improved today especially over Pas way. Even managed a bit of off piste. More snow required, but pretty good conditions considering.

Few Centimetres have fallen overnight in Soldeu, but not enough to make a difference I'm afraid. Forecast dumps stubbornly refusing to arrive here. Slopes are getting busier, but not overcrowded for the time of year. Will report back on hill situation later.
Hasta Lluego! |

Consistently wrong forecasts recently. Don't hold your breath folks!

Another good days skiing in Grandvalira. Sun shining but clouds gathering this afternoon. Who knows, the forecast snow may actually arrive this time!

First eyeball report of the season from your man in Soldeu. Beautiful sunny days skiing over to Pas and back. Snow a bit thin and hard in places but some good skiing to be had. More snow definitely required for full cover but in the meantime resort snow management is working hard, and all links are open.

I agree with your point Andy. What I mean is recreational skiers paying hundreds of pounds for custom made inners and shaved and blown shells. Comfort is more important then fit at that level(in my view).
Painful feet will deter new skiers and that can't be good. |
