I'm going on holiday with my sis to Munich and Austria, and since we are going to Austria, might as well get a lodge at the base of hintertux and since we will all ready be at the base. Why the heck not go up? So what's the average snow conditions this time of year. 8)

Where would you stop at if you had 10 days and no inhibitions from Munich to oh uh Tirol?

vampyre wrote:Have a personal goal for the 2008/09 season - might be far-fetched, but been in discussion amongst a circle of friends that it'd be feasible to have a week in Mayrhofen where the most expensive thing a person was to pay for would be the liftpass...

Me and a friend reckon flights to/from Innsbruck, transport (even taxi at a push between 4 people) up the valley, and a sizeable apartment shared between likeminded folk. Only problem is, Feb/March is the consensus as being the majority vote for best time (for us at least) thus being pretty peak season.

Any input appreciated on this.

...unless you all think I'm just crazy.

Are you going to be in the area from October 28- November 6? I just saw Feb/March, but hey you can stay at our place the Landhaus Rieder

tino_11 wrote:I think this is more likely to be ice-wine than Gluhwein. Ice-wine has a high alcohol content and is extremely sweet due to when the grapes are harvested....at a particular temperature when the water content is low and the sugar content high. It is usually taken with dessert or after a meal.

Gluhwein is just your supermarket red heated up with sweetners and a little spice sometimes.

I think.
No Tino it's definitely not supermarket swill ) It bugs me that I can't remember what it was

Last year I had a wonderfully sweet, white wine. It had a 14.7 alc. content. As you can see from my pics it was kept in a long neck brown bottle (which I hear white sachsen wines are kept in). The label on the side is small and black and believe it was a gluhwein (that's the question) On the other label it had a Minoan sculpture on a light orange back round. The bottles were rare and only sold a certain amount each year. The cost of the bottle was about either 16 or 8 euros. This stuff was quite simply the best wine I have ever had. I JUST DON'T REMEMBER THE NAME and I'm dying for another

Guess what ?

You mean Minneasnowta.
LMAO Magic carpets are, are Uh fun I guess. Being a lowly lift operator it was great at the bottom becuase people didn't understand the concept. Working at the top of those are great, you sit in your shack and make sure there isn't any pile ups. I LOVE the beer delivery concept. Very nice I'm going to have to ask my boos this year if we can find a way to shuttle Edelweiss (imported in) from our main operating area to the lifts

I was going to guess a ski jump, till someone said "beginner"
