I have had an enquiry from a female J2Skier who is interested in coming on this holiday but doesn't have anyone to share a room with, and doesn't want to pay the £200 sole occupancy charge.

So, if there are any other female J2Skiers in this situation willing to share with her would you please let me know. I won't release your name until you are sure you want to come, and only if you are happy for me to do so. And, furthermore, you don't have to join the Facebook group if you don't want to. I am using it to make my job easier and for us to get to know each other better.

I will be sharing a room myself with Catp, a lovely American lady whom I have never actually met before, because both my daughters will be away at uni.

Whilst my younger daughter was in Australia, nearly a year ago now, I organized a ski holiday for her. The Australians don't really seem to do packaged holidays like we do, as most of them seem to drive to their own ski resorts. However, I managed to find a company that included coach travel from Sydney, accommodation in the Snowy Mountains resort, ski hire, and lift passes to Thredbo and Perisher for a reasonable price.

Anyway, the point of this story is that when she got to the resort the accommodation turned out to be a huge room filled with bunk beds with males and females in the same room, (I admit I had noticed the curious expression multi-room when I was booking it and wondered what it meant). And she had a fantastic holiday. The Australians were really kind to her and they took her out ski-ing and partying with them and she said it was nothing at all like the ski holidays she'd previously had with me in Europe.

So, I don't see that sharing a room with another J2Skier of the same sex in this chalet should be much of a problem. If my 18 year old daughter can do it - so can I!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus, of course, I will have the advantage of getting to know Cat beforehand via pm's and Facebook.

And the same goes for the men. If any male solo skiers are looking to share a room with another male J2Skier in this chalet on our holiday would they please let me know.

Thanks Icy :D

I know you said that on the holiday thread, but Admin cut it out whilst leaving the bit where I said I would explain on this thread.

Plus, I'm not too sure that Snapzzz really understands what happened, and I don't want to leave him hurt and confused about this.

I would just like to repeat what I have said several times before, about the reason why I picked January and not March as the date for this holiday.

The survey results showed that March was slightly more popular than January. However, when I asked if everyone who was interested in coming on this holiday would please send me a pm, there was only one person who said they couldn't manage January but could come in March, whilst there were several who could manage January but not March. So I decided to book the holiday in January.

And, neither Snapzzz or Icy told me they could go in March but not in January.

I am very sorry they are disappointed not to be able to come on this holiday on 13th January, but as I said several pages ago, I am not psychic!!!!!!

I always go in January and have had good conditions most years and after two holidays in aprtments it will be nice to meet new people and maybe have someone to ski with..it all makes a change

I think Ally is doing a great job and deserves all the praise for the bravery in sticking her neck out and organizing this

Thanks very much Daved :D

My mother always used to use a very curious expression for this sort of thing - which went something like this:

'So who is the one who is going to be stuck up the chimney?'

And, in this case, it is clearly me
Hi Snapzzz,
I will explain (again) to you and Icy, and anyone else interested, why I picked January instead of March. But I'm going to do it on the original 'Anyone organising a group?' thread, because I'm trying to keep this one clear for information and queries about the holiday I HAVE booked for J2Skiers.

BUT I have been busy all day today, and as seems usual for me at the moment, I am totally exhausted, so would you all please wait a minute whilst I have my supper

I am really sorry that you are missing out on this holiday, Snapzzz and Icy, but I did everything I could to make this as fair as possible.

And, I'm sure you will both have great holidays with your own families and friends :D

Hope it goes away quickly!

As I have no one to feel sorry for me I am hoping some of you will :)

Hi FallingDown,
I am feeling sorry for you! I missed my first ski holiday for about 30 years because of breaking my shoulder on the dry ski slope 2 weeks before the holiday started

So - I know exactly how awful it feels, and if there was one of those head patting smilies I'd put one up for you.

AND - I really hurt my arm and neck hoovering one of the holiday cottages last summer. I went to see my osteopath and he said it was because there's some sort of concentrated nerve centre in your neck, which is why the assassin type people chop each other there when they're trying to kill each other on telly, and I'd hurt it by overstretching myself with the vacuum cleaner (trying to reach right under a double bed).

The osteopath fixed me up as best he could (after the hoovering accident I mean) and advised me to put an ice gel pack on it for 20 minutes each time, around 4 times per day, and keep doing it for several days. And, luckily my neck (and arm) got better.

So - best of luck with this, whichever method you decide to try, and I really hope it's better in time for your ski holiday :D

We're staying with Ski Bonjour in Val d'Isere (their Bivouac chalet) from 30th Dec to 6th Jan 13. Shame the dates don't quite tie up.

We've done the blue down to Tignes Les Brevieres. Quite an easy run. The Sache black run on my list for next time.

Thanks Bedrock Barney :D

I hope you have a great time in Val d'Isere with Bonjour :D

The Bonjour-Bonjour was already booked for the first 2 weeks in January when I phoned them. So I only had a choice of the 13th or 20th, and no-one seemed to mind which date I picked, so I went for the 13th, hoping it might be slightly quieter than the 20th.

I think I will start with the blue run back down to the village, then the red, and finally when I am feeling quite confident I will tackle the black
