Maybe we should work out who's the best skier amongst us, and get them to go down it first whilst we wait in a nice cafe somewhere, and then they can ring us on their mobile from the bottom if they reckon it's safe enough for us to go down it

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it's the longest black run in the area, at 10 Km long.
Hi Snowbandit,
That video was amazing

I wish I could ski like that. I can see now, what you've been doing in Morzine all winter
I have discovered that the Telegraph travel section named the Sache piste that goes into Les Brévières as their favourite black piste in the whole of Tignes:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/snowandski/france/tignes/6762169/Tignes-piste-guide.html

This is what they say:

Tignes has converted many of its black runs into 'naturides', which means they are never groomed (a neat way of saving money!) but they are marked, patrolled and avalanche protected. Many of them are not especially steep (eg the Ves run – promoted from red status and renamed after the local freeride hero Guerlain Chicherit). Perhaps the most serious challenge is the long black run from Tovière to Tignes-le-Lac, with steep, usually heavily mogulled sections (the top part, Pâquerettes, is now a naturide, but the bottom part, Trolles, is a normal black). Parts of this run get a lot of afternoon sun. Our favourite black run (still a 'normal' black) is the Sache, from l'Aiguille Percée down a secluded valley to Tignes-les-Brévières. It can become very heavily mogulled, especially at the bottom – you can avoid this section by taking the red Arcosses piste option part-way down.

But it is the off-piste possibilities that make Tignes such a draw for experts and the schools organise off-piste groups. See the feature box overleaf for a few of the off-piste runs.

I can see that I might have to avoid the moguls at the bottom, like they suggest - in case I break my big toe on moguls again

It would have been less confusing if Brucie had posted that on Sunday
I have had some more enquiries today, so things are looking quite encouraging.

Once people are sure they want to come I am allocating them rooms in the chalet, so that I know where I am with my numbers. And it will be easier to sort things out with the Bonjour company as well, because if we don't manage to fill the chalet they will know which rooms are free.

So, I admit that the one perk I have taken so far is that I have allocated myself (and Cat) one of the 2 bedrooms with bath and balcony (for an extra £30 per person per week). And the only other bedroom with a bath as well as a shower (the others all have en-suite bathrooms with showers), has also been taken.

I am still waiting to allocate bedrooms to one group. But apart from them, the bedrooms that have gone already are rooms 3,4,7, and 8.

The room descriptions and floor plans are here:

Hi Colin,
It looks like you're going to be very lucky then - if they've got plenty of snow in Banff.

Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Bedrock Barney,
I hope you and the family have a great time. My older daughter's first ski holiday was to Norway - to Geilo, on a school trip. She had a marvellous time. She said the Norwegians were incredibly kind to them all, and the instructor was brilliant.

Let us know how you got on, when you come back :D
