Hi I agree with neiltoo.
My Husband has had a total of 4 private lessons and the best one was his first and was taught by a french ski instructor, much to his supprise! The subsquent lessons have all fallen short, with one English instructor telling him his legs were in so much pain because he was unfit! This did not quite add up as he has much stronger legs than me and my legs were not in any pain! We will not book another lesson again unless we have had personal recomendation, because we have waisted hundreds of pounds! |

HI,
Yes I went there last season it was brilliant ( apart from being quite ill for half the week! This meant I could help teach my friend, without wishing I was cruising down the blacks! She was struggling and the ski school dumped her, the day she left her ski instructor has gone for lunch without checking they were all back, as it turned out my friend was not!) I would not recommend it for beginners as the nursery slope is hardly a slope and then you go up the mountain on to a blue which is not that big but quite a change in gradient! A great range of skiing loved it and will go back as soon as I can. The restaurants were really good as well, good quality food and service for a very reasonable price. Perfect for intermediates. The only draw back was that it was quite tricky to navigate, would not have wanted to do it myself! Hope I have convinced you. rustylou |

HI,
Yes went about 4 years ago, my first two holidays were there and I really enjoyed it, a good variety of runs and I am looking to go back soon. Perfect for a family holiday. Hope you all have a great time. |

Hi Smudger,
There is a higher shop with a garage storage facility for skis and boots and it’s very inexpensive. If you get there before all the skiers going for lessons you could then ride the button up to the gondola or there is a bus but it just goes at random times ( but quite regularly I think?) or if you’re feeling fit you can walk it takes about 5- 10 minutes! Hope you have a great time I know I did (apart from my sore throat!) I could not believe how vast an area there was too ski, it’s wicked but advisable to go on guided tours to get used to the area as the map is a bit confusing. Louise |

HI Goff and Wanderer, thanks for your comments.
I am hoping to join lessons as the friend I am going with is a beginner and I don't what to ski alone really, especially if the paste map is a bit confusing. I just hope the conditions don't change and it keeps snowing. Thanks again its always nice to hear comments from people who have actually been to the resort. Lou |

Great thanks for the advice, had first thought of highering when we got to Banff but going to drive form airport now.
It will allow us so much more freedom and comfort worth the extra money I feel. As you have said we could then think of venturing to the hills :-o Whats the score with the Canada Parks pass where do we get it from and as we are staying for 11 nights it is cheaper to get a yearly pass is that right? Thanks for the warm wellcome and all your advice you have been very helpfull. |
