I'm sorry if you've seen this one before, but I don't have many ski photos
I thought this was very funny because the car park at Meribel (Saturday evening 7th January 2012) looked like a car cemetery there was so much snow! People were having trouble locating their own cars under the snow, and then they had to dig them out before they could drive home  ![]() |

I think we were discussing budgets. I said I wouldn't like to spend more than £900 (for everything including ski hire, except lunch on the slopes), which would probably equate to somewhere around £450 for catered accommodation. Some of the others seemed to think that was quite a generous budget. And I said I didn't mind which resort we went to as long as it was a large well connected ski area with a decent amount of snow (and not out of my budget). So far Snapzzz has suggested the Porte du Soleil, Zermatt, and the Sella Ronda. Far Queue likes all Snapzzz's suggestions but prefers the Sella ronda. Iceman said ditto to Far Queue. Crispyapplepie said he liked Morzine and what about St Anton and Alpe d'Huez. Bedrock Barney likes Zermatt. Has anyone got any more comments/suggestions? Old Andy said he'd like to come if he could manage it. |

I had a long conversation with the owner of the Bonjour-Bonjour chalet this morning.
From tomorrow Bonjour are no longer holding this chalet exclusively for the members, friends, and family of J2Ski. However, I was very surprised because he has most generously offered to continue to give the group discount to anyone who books from now until the end of October, when the balancing payments are due, as long as there is still room in the chalet. So - I suppose that means we can continue as before :D If anyone is interested in coming with us on this 2013 ski holiday to the chalet Bonjour-Bonjour, in Tignes Les Brevieres, on the 13th January, would they please send me a pm or post on here. The details are on the first page of this thread. At the moment we have booked about half the chalet. It would be very nice if we could have the whole chalet full of J2skiers and their friends and family :D |

Icy,
Remember to drink lots - to replace the fluid lost in all that snot  Dids - I told Icy yesterday to try steam inhalation - but he only lasted 8 minutes - you know what men are like - such weaklings  Andy - Icy is still posting today - therefore I assume the man lives! |

Bandit - you, your OH, and any other members of your family and friends are very welcome to come with us on either the 2013 or the 2014 J2Ski group holiday :D I'm very sorry that you're upset about this. I had no intention of trying to exclude you in any way at all. Everyone is invited :D And no-one has the authority to ban anyone from coming on this holiday. Admin controls this website, but not the holiday. He wants it made quite clear that he is NOT organizing it, because J2Ski is NOT a Tour Operator. All any of us can do is decide whether WE want to go on a J2Ski group holiday. And as Daved said ALL members of J2Ski have the right to post on this 2014 holiday thread, whether they want to go or not, unless otherwise decreed by Admin. We haven't got an organizer for the 2014 holiday yet. I took on the job for the 2013 holiday, mainly because no-one else wanted to do it. But if anyone else wants the job for 2014 I am quite happy to hand it on. |

Icy,
It may just be me that's short of money  Everyone else may be really rich and want to stay in a top-of-the range chalet in a really swish resort in the most expensive week in March  I'm suggesting we consider a budget at the start so we don't waste a lot of time thinking about places and dates we can't afford - unless of course everyone else really is super rich and I will crawl off to my own dog kennel somewhere on the outskirts of a large ski resort, in January 2014  |

Crispyapplepie,
The reason I said that about Snowbandit jumping in the SnowPark was because she posted up a video of herself doing it - so it was more of a joke than anything else, but it would be nice to see her if we happened to be in the Morzine area :D I don't really care where we go as long as there's plenty of snow, a large well connected area, and it's not too expensive. I wouldn't want to spend more than about £900 for transport, accommodation, ski hire, and lift passes - so not more than somewhere around £450 for the actual accommodation. So - that may restrict me to the cheaper dates. Looking at the prices for the chalet Bonjour-Bonjour in Tignes for 2013 (the one we have booked for 2013) simply because they are in front of me, it would mean 16th December, all of January, 17th March, or 14th April in 2013. Of course - we might find somewhere cheaper elsewhere in another resort, but it does give an idea of prices. Sun 16 Dec 2012 299 Sun 23 Dec 2012 569 Sun 30 Dec 2012 775 Sun 6 Jan 2013 399 Sun 13 Jan 2013 399 Sun 20 Jan 2013 399 Sun 27 Jan 2013 399 Sun 3 Feb 2013 499 Sun 10 Feb 2013 549 Sun 17 Feb 2013 749 Sun 24 Feb 2013 525 Sun 3 Mar 2013 525 Sun 10 Mar 2013 499 Sun 17 Mar 2013 449 Sun 24 Mar 2013 599 Sun 31 Mar 2013 699 Sun 7 Apr 2013 599 Sun 14 Apr 2013 299 From the point of view of the organizer I liked it the way everyone sorted out their own transport to the chalet in Les Brevieres. It was less hassle for me and gave them more flexibility, and we've got people going by car, train, and aeroplane. So, unless some very cheap package turns up, I think it's worth considering doing it that way again. |
