I happen to know that Felthorpe is fine, thank you, although I'm sure she appreciates your concern for her well being :D She's just busy - as Snapzzz said, some of us do have lives away from the ski slopes (and J2Ski) :lol: Starting this 2014 thread was her idea, but she doesn't seem to mind me organizing the group holiday. Anyway, there isn't much left to organize for the 13th January 2013 J2Ski group holiday to Tignes, (although we still have places available in case anyone else wants to come), so I might as well make a start on the 2014 group holiday :D |

Randyrat (who started the 2013 group holiday thread) says he's interested in the 2014 group holiday, so I'll add him (and his group of 4) to the list :D
He prefers the last week in January and doesn't want to book anywhere too expensive (but thinks £399 for the catered chalet in Tignes Les Brevieres for the 2013 holiday is an acceptable price). |

I agree with you and I think that the date will be the deciding factor for most people as to whether or not they can go on this holiday. I have had a look at a few calendars for 2014 and I think most school holidays will finish on Friday 3rd January. Hence Saturday 4th January will be the first available date for us. And half-term seems to be from Monday 17th - Friday 21st February or from Monday 24th February to Friday 28th February. So - if they put the prices up for both weeks in February then that means about half of Feb is wiped out :cry: Easter is really late - Good Friday is 18th April, so it shouldn't affect dates in March :D If we make Saturday 22nd March the last date we'll consider, then it means we have 10 available weeks if we miss out both half-term weeks. I followed Icy's suggestion and discovered the text box (for comments) on SurveyMonkey, so it would be feasible to post the date survey up on here (in, say October) and ask people to put their J2Ski user name in the text box so that I know they are genuine. And we could let the date voting run for a month and go with the majority decision on this. And then we could let the resort survey run for another month and again go with the majority decision. We need to make sure we pick some decent resorts to select from. |

Brooksy - when I first looked at Andy's photo my brain couldn't accept that he'd been trying to ski down something as steep as that, and I did wonder if he'd rotated the picture. But when I looked more carefully I could see that he had indeed been trying to ski down a precipice :shock:
But it is reassuring to know he had someone with him (the one who took the photograph), and obviously he survived the incident because happily he is still here to tell us all about it :D |
