That shouldn't matter Rose, when you are abroad YOUR operator sets the tarrif not the local operator. |

Orange has a plan called the EU data bundle.
You can choose between a 30 day bundle or a monthly bundle. The price of your bundle will depend on how much data allowance you choose. You can choose a £15 bundle giving you 30 MB of data or a £50 bundle giving you 150 MB of data or a £150 bundle giving you 500MB of data. Not as good as the o2 deal. |

Just thought i would give you guys a tip regarding using your smartphones abroad.
If you are like me and cannot survive without your iPhone (other phones are available) and wish to use it abroad then you are probably already aware of the EXTORTIONATE costs carriers put on data. Last year O2 were charging me £3 per MB and i stupidly downloaded a work email with a 5mb attachment....you do the maths. Anyway normally i come back to a £50 - £80 bill i that is using it sparingly. Well this year i discovered O2 are offering an EXCELLENT deal. You sign up for a new bolt on which is £1.50 a day when you use data overseas. That gives you 15mb for that day. If you turn your data off for a day and don't use it you do not get charged. So in ADH this year i used my iPhone for the usual email (no attachments thank you very much) and Facebook and was always just under the 15mb allowance. It worked really well. So for the 7 days it cost me £10.50 for 105mb. Pretty good value wouldn't you say? |

Well to be honest mate we don't really do those big lunch stops, if i eat too much at mid day i find it just slows me down in the PM so i don't think i can comment really.
The only places we did go to were Le Tremplin in Les bergers right at the bottom of the Romains chair. But it gets VERY busy at lunch so get there early, the food was nice from what i saw of it but we just bought paninis and baguettes from the hut attached to the restaurant and sat in the deck chairs with a beer or two. And we only ate out once in the eve as we were half board - we went to Pinocios Italian on the main street which was very nice but very small so again you need to get that early or book. If we hadn't have had my little girl with us then i definitely would have eaten in Le Sporting next to the ice rink as the place looked really nice. It has two sides, bar and restaurant.....Bar was nice for apres... Sorry can't be more help. Ps.. on a tour around we saw some beautiful places down the bottom end of the village, around the base of the bucket lifts....might be a bit of a trek for you though. |

I think i must have put the wrist strap on when hanging it out the gondola so it was pretty safe. The photos were proper photos not from the video. I set the camera on auto shoot every 3 secs and just held it out for about 10 seconds. It is a great feature. I much prefer stills to video, it leaves much more to the imagination. Have fun with it and post some pics and video when you get back. |

Those pole are probably a great idea for boarders but not for skiers.
For skiers it wouldn't work as you would then need to ditch a Ski pole to use the camera pole. This is how i mounted mine: 1. increase the diameter of the Ski pole slightly. I used self alalgamating tape used for waterproofing joints on pipes and stuff.
Mount the go pro handle bar mount to the ski pole.
3. Mount the camera
Simples. The handle bar mount is very light and pretty robust so i left it on my pole all the time and just attached the camera when required. My tip for boarders buying a pole to use in this manner is get the longer you can as it gives you a wider view of yourself. I would suggest looking at 130cm. My ski pole is 115cm and doesn't give a full view of myself looking back. |

That is frightening. I suppose when skiing alone we should inform someone, maybe the hotel, of a return time and ask them to raise the alarm if this is missed. It would be awful to be stranded with no one even knowing you are missing. |
