That 1080p looks great mate and i like the chest mounted view point. I twas toying with the idea of buying one for my next trip
If you run it through iMovie you can use the stablization to reduce the shake quite easily.

Many I the apps on Cydia are indeed free, they are generally small system tweaks such as allowing you to add 5 items to your dock and stuff like that. But they also host a legitimate store where developers host their work that you can buy, stuff that apple do not like. I am more than happy to pay for that.

Jail breaking does allow you to install apps such as Tom Tom that you can download (illegally) for free from various sources. But I do not do that. That is stealing.
Jail breaking is not all about pirate software, it's about doing other things with your device. Jailbreaking is not illegal, downloading and installing copyrighted material is.

As for bricking. Well I don't know anyone personally that has had this problem. If you get any issues you just dock it with ITunes and restore.
