Slope grading

Do you think it will be ever possible to have a consistent grading system? There are so many factors that determine difficultly and some of these factors are variable....a moderate blue can become a stiff red with ice and moguls.

I don't envy the resorts in choosing a grading but having said that some are plain wrong. EG: Mira from the grand rochette in la plagne. Its graded blue because it is wide but my god its steep for a blue and moguled to hell after 10am....funny how its the only blue down off that lift ;-)

Put it like this, theres no chance of a visit to N so that wipes out a number of J2skiers, and when I was in ADH I dont know of anyone else who was out there from here.

I just dont think the idea of an organised trip would ever work or get off the ground.

Anyway, if Nelly isnt going, nor am I.

Sounds good, i'll book for N in january....helmets compulsory

Its not going to happen, is it?

Well it was a thought....

I'll post my travel plans well in advance and if anyone wants to 'bump' into us in resort then that would be cool... Icy?

IF, and thats a massive if, this was ever to get off the ground, it needs someone to take responsibility and say, right - this is the crack; we are going this week in this month, and to this resort. Get yourselves booked into whatever accommodation you want so you are not all under the same roof all week, and arrange daily ski meets or beer/lunch stops, etc.

Well that was exactly the plan.
I can't say that i'd definitely ever commit to a week in a chalet with all you weirdos but i would be happy to ski a few runs, sip a few beers and see who is who and see if any true friendships could be forged.

There is no way i would sacrifice a weeks skiing with the family to venture into the unknown but it would be great if some of you guys happened to be in the resort at the same time as my family and i
