@Tony: please lets not turn this topic into a cost discussion one.

For the quality of chalet, and including all the extras like the ski-hire, the price is reasonable for the area.

(looking at the variety of ski-companies online- this week/chalet is currently selling at around 908-00 for the remaining slots)

Indeed there are a variety of chalets that are available from 350 pounds all the way up to 2000 pounds per person.

And yes, you are correct, there are also "last" minute deals that sometimes become available. But then there is also the risk of the cost of the flight and seat availability becoming an issue if you leave it to late. And also the week of the year makes a difference - as I am sure you know.

So a number of factors contribute but to simply say a particular package is 200 over-priced is a very general statement.

Thanks for your contribution. As an experienced poster to the forums your contribution is no doubt appreciated.

@All: Please respect the topic at hand and if you have an interest that relates to taking up the two spaces do let me know.
@Hutchy and @Andy: please see your PM Inboxes - I have responded direct to you.

Thanks admin for moving this and creating a NEW Thread for these types of requests.

@Tony: not entirely a Silver Service - but close ;-)

Allow me to add: all rooms are TWIN rooms with their own en-suite facilites and with their own balconies. Chalet has sauna etc.

Really good ;-)

Anyone except Tony interested ?
Sorry meant to mention - its from 05th February to 12th February.
Apologies to the Admins/Modereators if this is in the wrong forum discussion. This is not a commercial posting but rather a "social" one. So please place as appropriate!

WE have a group of 10 people booked in a Fully Catered Chalet - unfortunately two people have dropped out - and we would love to fill the spots as the trip is already paid for. 755-00 (pounds) per person (including catered chalet, ski and boot hire, flights and transfers) - currently booked flying from Southampton (but I am sure we can change if you want to fly out of somewhere else in the UK).

A really great bunch of people going. Total spread of ski'ing abilities (first time ski'ers to black runners)- and besides you don't need to ski with the group of course (or even socialise if you don't want to :-).

Ages range from 33-43 and there are 3 couples and 2 singles going along. NOT HEAVY DRINKERS - will be a good couple of bottles of wine but nothing over the top - all professional individuals!

Seriously don't miss out. :D

Let me know. IM if you want to know more.
Heated Insoles

Andy, my wife has the coldest feet in the world!

And when it came to her starting to ski - I had to agree to get her feet warm. We started with the standard manual "shake" feet toppers - the ones you buy -from Tresspass I think- and put them in the sock which then conforms to the foot - blah blah....

So now we have upgraded to heated in-soles - and she LOVES the ones she has now http://www.conform-able.com.

We bought them from Snow and Rock - about two seasons back - I think around 150-00 to 190-00 pounds (from memory sorry if this is wrong - but they are not cheap). Ouch I hear you say - not cheap. But they ARE worth it. And they last for a whole day of ski'ing - with an easy overnight charge for the next day.

Also, at this price the guys at Snow and Rock actually include INSTALLING them into your boots. They cut a small hole into the insoles and actually properly attach (stick) them into the sole itself - a really professional job.

So all in all well worth the investment.
Flybe ski excess baggage

Thanks Tony, I understand. Worst case scenario I gotta pay more money at the airport. SO will go with the approach of 2 ski's in one under the weight limit and then see what happens.

Cheers for now.
Flybe ski excess baggage

Hey All, anyone with experience on Flybe out there?

Been ski'ing flying out with Flybe for as long as I can remember - no problems.

This Xmas I will be taking my own ski's for the first time. In fact ski's for myself and my wife.

Question - I gave pre-booked 1xexcess baggage (ski's) as we have a ski carry bag that can hold two sets of ski's.

The policy on the website is not clear - and when speaking to the Flybe operator he said - no problem to carry two sets if ski's in one bag as long as total length dies not exceed 1.85 and weigh more than 25kg!

So my question: will I get to the airport and find out something different? Anybody know? Can I take two sets of ski's (with s couple of pairs of socks) under 25kg in one bag? Or should I pay / book ANOTHER 1xexcess baggage allowance at £60?
