I thought I would just let you all know that I have finally managed to get a refund :-)
In total I have sent them 46 emails and made endless calls !! With out reply. Then I was adviced by the POLICE (internet fraud) to send them a formal letter using the template from the Government Consumer Protection website ( you can view it at) http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/after_you_buy/making-complaint/template-letters/dsr_letter/ ) After send this to them with all the blanks filled in i received this reply... thanks for your email your refund has been processed kind regards Emma McVicar BakerMacintosh Ltd Not even a sorry....... but the template worked, they responded within 6 hours... Their level of customer support is zero !! and I live in Spain where customer services are low !! So i do not expect that much, but least they will communicate with you.. As per previous post. Chose somewhere else to spend your hard earned money !! If you think I am just a one off, check out google for a full list of unhappy shoppers.... |

Can anyone offer any advice on car hire from Barcelona Airport to Andorra ??
I believe I will have to get extra insurance to cover crossing into Andorra ?? Any recommendations on companies ?? It looks an easy drive, on just one road. Is this the case ?? Do I need snow chains by law ?? Anything else I need to know ?? Thanks in advance for any help :-) |

They give internet sales companies a bad name and make you think twice about making an internet purchase !! |

It looks like I am the next victim of scansports.co.uk !!
As quoted by one of the people from their shop with the same name, but claims to be no part of the internet business “customer service, what’s that !!” there telephone number even appears on my Visa bill hhhhmmmm !! I placed an order with them for a helmet on 3-1-08, terms and conditions on their website, say 2-3 days delivery. Still no sign of it now !! As per other posting on this forum, they have no telephone customer support and no one will ever answer the phone and as I said above the shop with same name, claim to know nothing about the internet side of the business and they themselves, are not able to telephone them !! The sales person told me I was one of 15 people who were having similar problems that had called him that day, It was only 12:30 when I called !! Scansports have lots of different email address and I have tried them all without reply, except one that replied and said the following “Thanks for your email, I am sorry you have had trouble getting in touch with our company. We no longer offer telephone support but you should have had an email response.I will pass this onto the relevant person now.” This was the last I ever heard from them and emailing back to this same email address has been unsuccessful :-) I understand that times are hard (credit crunch) and they cannot afford to pay someone to answer the phone or emails, but what are you meant to do when the goods you have paid for, never land on your door step ?? You cannot contact the parcel company they use, because you have no idea which company they use, or have any reference number!! So that leaves you out of pocket, with nothing you can do !! I have now contact my credit card company, who say it will be 2-3 weeks before they are able to contact the scansports to claim the money back, it is not a great deal of money, but now is just a principle thing !! My advice to anyone who is looking on the internet for ski gear, is try somewhere else and don’t be the next victim !! |
