Should have added, do not even think about ski boots or helmets in hand luggage, even if it was OK on the way out they don't like it at Grenoble

There is a separate queue, for Ski's we could not check them in until we had checked our normal bags, might be worth a doubel check when you get there

Ski lessons/passes - La Plagne 1800

Hi, can recommend ESF at 1800 and Oxygene which is in Plan Centre, there is a free ski bus. ESF meet at 1800(near sports 2000) and its a nice easy short ski down to the chair up to Aime, for which you will need a pass. If you want to there are some nursery slopes just by were ESF meet which has a button and you don't need a pass. Agree with Pubsinger and would go for the La Plagne pass, there is plenty to ski without going to Les Acrs.

As you have differing levels its unlikely that you will be in the same group, and if yo go for private lesson, its likely that one of you will get more attention than the other but you will ski together.

Personally I would go for the port du soleil pass, from Morzine you can get up to Avoriaz and its easy to get over to Chatel or into Switzerland, however you have the choice of also getting over to Les Gets, which we didn't manage to get to.

It all depends on how much of a piste cruiser you are

On the food front, contact the hotel or the TO and ask if there is a choice

Check the Port Du Soleil website, http://www.portesdusoleil.com/main/FCK/pdf/PortesduSoleil_Hiver.pdf thisis the piste map.

Hi have skied Avoriaz and Chatel, didn't get down to Morzine.

Avoriaz sits just above Morzine, fussy eaters not a problem, if they like just a plain burger and chips or a ham and cheese sandwich, most places will do simple food. Beer depends on were you go, your looking at Euro 2.50 to 3.00 for a small beer 25cl
