I won't be packing until about half an hour before I leave. It takes me about 10 minutes so I will then have 20 minutes spare

I know exactly where I keep all my ski stuff (because I put it away in the same place each year after I've washed it etc.) and my passport and paperwork and toothbrush etc. Plus I have a list of everything I need so I won't forget anything.

The next thing I have to do to prepare for this holiday is to buy my Eurostar ticket out there, but they're not on sale yet - shouldn't be long though :D

And if anyone else wants to come with us please let me know.

Yes, I am a member. I find the discounts very useful, plus I have skied several times with their 'Leaders' in resort.
I don't think Pavel is being too serious - he's just trying to entertain and challenge us and help us get through the summer during which most of us will be unable to ski by thinking about ski connected matters that wouldn't occur to most of us.
Bedrock Barney, if you're looking for direct ski train tickets for Feb half-term you've got to be very quick.

We have bought these several times and grouped seats usually sell out by around lunch time on the day they release tickets to the general public. Last year I managed to get some of the pre-release seats because I pre-registered with Eurostar for them a year early!

But I have found that you can still get single seats several days later. We did that one year and then found some kind people who didn't mind us moving so that we could sit together.

Once the direct train tickets have sold out you have to take the indirect train and change in Paris.

Worldwide, I think you have to get a bus in most ski resorts either from your accommodation to the snow or to get from one part of the ski area to another.

That's why the Three Valleys in France is so good because it's truly lift linked with plenty of ski in/ski out accommodation.

Ian, I've never been there but I think that Auffach and Niederau are connected by the usual type of free ski bus.

I hope you're OK Pavel - it sounds like you're having a really tough time

Best of luck with sorting it all out :-)
We've found the lower slopes in Meribel a bit soft/icy both in January New Year, and Feb half-term - in fact I would say that the snow in Meribel is the worst out of Courchevel, VT and Meribel. But at least it is very quick and easy to get out of Meribel if there is a problem with the quality of the snow.

Best of luck with your family holiday!
